Likes: I have some trecking poles from black diamond and I really like them. From what I have heard from the people I know, they are all happy with their gear from black diamond. If only I had the opportunity to use there stuff more often, everyone wishes for more powder days.

Likes: BD is a big name in the backcountry. You will see a ton of skiiers with BD boards when you get out there, and they've been making product for a long time and know what they're doing. (What they don't do is make snowboards). But they do make some essential gear for backcountry riders, including collapsible poles (you need a three-piece to fit it in your pack!) and climbing equipment, and what they do make is generally the best and is also price-point competitive.

Likes: depending on the lumens you get, the headlamps have an excellent value when compared to other headlamps. they also make excellent hiking backpacks that RETAIN their shape after you set them on the floor (a counter example would be laying down your school backpack...notice how it folds in on itself with the top and bottom folds closer toward you, and the mid section away)...but that has a little more to do with it's awkward shapes, like w/ the bullet
Dislikes: not too much, actually. it's not terribly overpriced and it's competitive against similar things like petzl

Likes: This company follows the standarts set by Chouinard Equipment and these are - nothing but the best climbing gear. I am not a climber but work as RAT and used Black Diamond ascender - so well designed that using it simply can't get stuck on a knot...
