"2009 Dominant" 3/8/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Dominant Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  Good at high speeds,
  • Cons:  Heavy, 2009 Version is not flexible at all. ,

Experience:   The 2009 Version of this board is like riding on a steel pole. I didnt find it to be flexible at all. Good for high speeds since there is not much flex so it does not get wobbly at high speeds as easy.

  • Name: Burton Dominant Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  well built, Decent flex, easy ride
  • Cons:  heavy,

Experience:   I put this board threw everything on the mountain and off and it took it like a champ. Board has some pop to it, flew is decent. It is a little unstable at higher speeds but not to bad. Overall pretty good board.

"Fun!" 3/1/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Dominant Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Soft, Fun,
  • Cons:  Slow,

Experience:   I had this in the Ostrich top and it looks awesome. It was a really fun board and really soft to muck around with in the park or just flat area. It was a bit slow as it had extruded base. But besides that, can't fault it too much. May not be the best for high speed riding, but I never really had any issue until I compared it with my current board (Ride DH). For the price, can't fault it.

Oh yeah also got the board for 200 off season, and you don't have to get the burton bindings on this year model unlike newer years!

"Domination!" 1/10/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Dominant Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Flex Baby!, Awesome skateboard design!, Rail ready edges!
  • Cons:  Unstable at high-speeds,

Experience:   I have had my 146 Dominant for 3 years and just sold it yesterday to upgrade to a bigger board. All I can say is domination, in the park. The rail ready edges make such a difference when trying to nail those hard battleship rails and you wont bust it catching an edge. The board also has really good flex which is great for buttering or jibbing. The only cons I can think of is that its unstable at high speeds if your used to a board that is stable. By the way, the skateboard design is sick!(Grip tape on top, scratched look on bottom.) Awesome!

"Dominant, first board" 12/15/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Dominant Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Sturdy, Great for park,
  • Cons:  heavy, not as flexy as I would like,

Experience:   My setup is '09 missions and motos (definitly regret getting all the burton) Its a great board, i'm very happy with it. Mostly use it for park, holds up well and is more sturdy on rails and boxes compared to other boards i've ridden. The 2 worst things are its weight (so downsize) and not as flexy as I expected. But its still a great board no matter where on the mountain I take it.

"Pretty nice" 12/2/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Dominant Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  Skate feel, very fun, graphics,
  • Cons:  little heavy, grip tape on topsheet,

Experience:   overall a nice board for the beginner park rider. this board progressed my park skills and at the same time I had no problem with it outside the park, good edge on groomers and just flexable for park and all mountain. A lot of people say this board is just for the park but its a really fun board for any beginner. only downfall is that its a little heave and gets banged up easily on the sidewalls and topsheet. handles everything a beginner can throw at it and not bad for an intermediate looking to start in the park also.
