Description: I found this jacket to be way baggier than I expected. I was hoping for a tighter fit.
Experience:
I'm usually between a Small and Medium, and I bought this jacket hoping that it would fit like a sig fit jacket should fit (so went for Medium), but ultimately I find it way too big. Apart from that, it's a good lightweight shell jacket and perfect for wearing layers under - it's not going to offer a lot of warmth on it's own. I didn't realise from the photos, but there are glossy, grippy stripes on the shoulders. They don't detract from the look, but they were definitely a surprise when unpacking the jacket.
Experience:
This is a great shell but, it is only worth it at 70% off. The fit of it though is prefect for me. There is enough room to layer with it, which is needed since there is no warmth to it.
Experience:
compared to the [AK] line, the idiom line just doesn't measure up. While the design is more creative, the functionality is not there. First of all, the fit of 09 idiom jacket is too short. It is not the sig fit that burton did wit the rest of the 09 line, which is longer fit and longer sleeves. the second draw back is that the tech is just not there. For a jacket that cost this much you should expect gore-tex.
Experience:
I like burton jacket. I had a lot of sale were purchased. But a little disappointing. Because the jacket is too flimsy and loose. I have wanted warm jacket. This did not satisfy me.

since when shell jackets are warm? get yourself a fleece and warm it up..
i'm sure you like it though when it's spring out and you can just wear it with thin layer underneath, right?
Cons: Not enough pockets, Not worth full price, A bit thin for this type of jacket
Jacket Fit: Just right
My Size: L
Fits Like: XL
Description: I'm 6'1 200lbs with broad shoulders. The length is fine but it seems a bit baggy around the torso.
Experience:
I currently own a Cloudveil goretex RPK jacket that's bulletproof but saw this and thought it would be a bargain buy.
I was a little underwhelmed by this jacket when I unpacked it from the box. Its a bit thin and there aren't many features to this jacket @ a $500 retail price. You can actually get a 2/3 ply goretex jacket that's got way more features from competitors but at 70% off its not a terrible deal.
The fit is a bit interesting, I'm a built 6'1 @ 200lbs and got the XL according to the sizing that was spec'ed out in the Sierra description and their test model. The length is fine and you can definitely layer underneath it. However, I'm surprised on how baggy this is around my torso and my arms given my build. One thing I'm a little disappointed is that there is no pow skirt or a sinch around the torso area to tighten it up (just at the bottom of the jacket). The hood is attached and cannot be removed.
Overall, I still haven't used this on the slopes and this is my initial impression. I have my doubts as compared to my Cloudveil, will see how it performs. I would say if you're in dire need of a jacket, this will suffice ONLY at 70% off.
Pros: very cool pattern and color, super light weight, good for summer riding
Cons: way too expensive , super fragile zippers,
Jacket Fit: Just right
My Size: L
Fits Like: M
Description: fits small
Experience:
I bought this coat at my local reps sample sale. It is great for spring and summer camp riding and I wear it around town as well. Be aware it does not have a waist gaiter. Also the zippers are very fragile, I blew out the teeth on one just from normal use, had to sew it shut.
Cons: fabric starts to wear out after a couple weeks, Price, Pit Zips open all the way, no mesh
Jacket Fit: Just right
My Size: L
Fits Like: L
Description: I thought it was a good fit.
Experience:
This jacket is really nice. Its built similar to a shell, except they filled it with down so it keeps you nice and warm. Pit zips get you all wet when you fall down because they just open like the front of jacket. But I like this jacket for the cold days and that is why I would reccommend it for riders who dont like to feel like a monkey is strapped to their back while riding.
Experience:
Got the idiom a while back and am still using it. It is very warm and tough jacket. I usually just wear a long sleeve under it and ill be fine for the whole day. There are lots of pockets on it so it can hold my cell phone, ipod, wallet and other items. great jacket with no regrets on it except the price.
Experience:
Tried this jacket out when it first came out, felt great and anything with idiom is awesome! At the time the only thing holding me back was the price. But now that its on sale, I might just get one!
Experience:
This is a great shell. The green is super vibrant and I like it. Buy it on sale, nothing is worth what Burton tries to get for these retail.
