Name: Giro Shiv Signature Series Featuring Tune Ups
Pros: good coverage to protect skull, warm ear flaps, upgradable sound system
Cons: looks like Spaceballs,

Experience: This helmet does feel great and keeps my head warm. The chin strap is padded for comfort, but if you don't buckle it then the helmet will bounce off your head when you fall. The ear flaps are warm, and allow for the audio upgrades if that is your thing. It comes with a magnetic clip for your goggles, and this makes a strong connection in the two available positions for it. When my helmet fell off my head (as mentioned above), the mag-clip did not fail. My Giro Root goggles fit very well with this helmet. It feels like a solid shell, but I haven't given it a true crash test yet.

Pros: warm, pretty light, raw snowboard look, low cost,
Cons: cheapy padding isn't the most comfortable,

Experience: the shiv was my first helmet. Basic raw helmet that does the job but not man frills. My large is noticably lighter than my girls medium giro encore 2.... its not the lowest profile but not a bubble head helmet. good lookin raw skate/snowboard helmet look. vents work ok but you gotta remove the plugs manually and they are easy to loose. comes with two sets of removable velcro sets of padding. Kinda cheapy padding but like I said it does the job and saved my head on a mogul. decent helmet for the price.
