Likes: over the years ive had a few pairs of hitecs, mostly magnums, and they are very comfortable. i also agree that the soles dont last very long, but aside from that, well worth it.

Likes: I have had two pair of HT hiking boots over the years. I ususally favor Vasque boots but I've gone through quite a few and these always seem to have a very competitive price point.
Dislikes: In my experience, though, the quality isn't as good as with some other brands.

Likes: The durability of their shoes is great. I have had the same pair of Hi Tec hiking boots for the last 5 years and haven't had a need to replace them.
Even the laces are still good.
Comfort wise haven't had any issues and the padding is still good after a few years.
I just use them for general bush walking and hiking. I have trail runners that I really hammer when I go off-track running.

Likes: I've been in Law Enforcement for over 25 years and have owned almost every pair of boots they've offered for the past 10 years. HiTech offers an extremely affordable and quality product that is unrivaledwhen it comes to waterproofing and comfort. I can't recommend any of their snowboard/ski products since I've never owned any but if you are looking for a pair of everyday boots....I highly recommend. Hi-Tech also offers a wide variety of boots for the person with extremely wide feet like me.
Dislikes: Construction can sometimes be a problem because these boots don't seem to last all that long. The EVA soles wear quickly and often seperate from the boot itself around the one year mark.
However, I don't mind sacrificing longevity for comfort...but that's my opinion.

Likes: One word describes hitec, value. These shoes are cheap. Obviously i wouldn't compare them to merrell's as there is a huge price difference. These are more like hiking shoes on the cheap.
