Matt Cummins has the longest running pro model in snowboard history. He has been designing boards with us for over 20 years. Matt’s latest dream board is an aggressive all terrain directional C1 freestyle, freeride board he calls the La Nina. Banana in the front, rocker between your feet and camber (C1) in the back design with Magne-Traction. Matt rides a lot of resort accessible steep pow terrain and the often brutal, to the point of comedy, terrain necessary to get in and out of the pow stashes... and then hits every jib or cat track hit on the way back to the lift. He loves the banana float in the front and suspension and power of camber (C1) in the rear. Fantasy terrain techno quiver killer. Ryan Davis did the art and worked with Matt on the stormy collage.

Experience: I Own the 2012 version and demo'd the 2013. The 2013 Lib Tech La Nina is matt cummins pro model. It's their C1 board, which means it has camber only in the tail and reverse camber between your feet(banana). The LaNina also has mag down the edge. This board would kill it as a directional all mountain board. It likes to go fast down the steep pow lines but still handles everything else very well with the loaded camber out the tail it allows stable edge hold... Also it has no taper angle so the doesn't wash out. Great all mt. killer that caters more towards the soft snow. This board is very different than the 2012 model. The 2012 was all C2 BTX. It is a completely different board. Lib Tech calls this C1 which makes the La Nina is kind of like a BTX board in the front and then a C2 BTX board in the back. Itâ€™s really hard to characterize this board when you compare it to other hybrid shapes. Some are tapered and some have a similar shape with directional rocker but none have a ride like this.
