"Excellent mid-flex boot " 4/16/2013
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2013 Nike Zoom Kaiju Snowboard Boots Men's
  • Pros:  well developed lacing system, out of box fit and comfort, great mid-level flex
  • Cons:  liner velcro strap, cheap insoles,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  11
  • Boot Size:  10.5

Experience:   This is my very first boot that hasn't been a Burton. Ion, Imperial, Ruler, Moto, Hail, Grail, Ambush, I've seen them all. the last go around seemed to change the feeling of Burton boots to me and so I had to move on. I tried on a pair of Nike's whilst in Seattle at Evo and pulled the trigger on the Kaiju's. the first thing I noticed when i got them on snow was the out of the box feel. very comfy, very warm (not so good in the Tahoe spring, but oh well) and ridable on day one. The lace lock helps you have options on where you want the boot snug or loose or whatever you're needing for the day. the laces did loosen up a bit, but nothing compared to my Hail's. the liner was magic, feeling wonderful, keeping my foot locked in and just being awesome. The velcro strap on the top is cool and it helps, but I have some monster calves and would be more comfy with another inch or two on the strap. the tongue seems very narrow as well, some more coverage for my shin would be nice, but not a deal breaker. the boots are a great flex profile, offering lots of support on the groomers and in the pow as well as enough flex for boxes and rails. Overall a very solid do it all boot that leaves very little to want.

"2013 Nike Zoom Kaiju Snowboard Boots Men's" 3/14/2013
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2013 Nike Zoom Kaiju Snowboard Boots Men's
  • Pros:  very comfy, fairly warm, super stylish (black/cement)
  • Cons:  not exactly true-to-fit, would have loved to see a high velcro strap,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  9.5
  • Boot Size:  9.5

Experience:   I absolutely love the black/cement colorway of this boot. I'm a Nike sneakerhead and these fit in perfect with my collection. With style aside, the boots are really comfy and warm. Nike has seemed to have evolved their snowboard boot line (these are my first boots since the premiere ZF1). I wear a size 9.5 Nike sneaker but the 9.5 Kaiju's leave my toes touching the front of the boot. They're not crammed, but I can def feel the front with my toes. I hoping they pack in a bit and give me some wiggle room. I also noticed when riding pipe, they tend to give a little bit. In my personal opinion, I wished they had the velcro strap like the ZF1's, just to keep shin movement minimal. I love these boots, but there are a few kinks that could be worked out. Overall there are no real HUGE gripes with this boot. I'd recommend them to anybody who's willing to pay a little more for a solid/stylish boot.

"simple style- done well" 2/12/2013
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2013 Nike Zoom Kaiju Snowboard Boots Men's
  • Pros:  great fit, recycled inner, quality manufacture
  • Cons:  no quick pull,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  10
  • Boot Size:  9.5

Experience:   Great snowboard boot. Nike has taken the best classic facets of bootmaking and used quality parts and workmanship to make a solid and lasting boot. The inner is manufactured from recycled material and fits snug. Old style laces - but with a toggle clip that catches at half way up the outer laces- so you can keep the bottom part of the boot done up tightly whilst adjusting the top. Was never a big Nike fan (always wear adidas)- but have really appreciated this boot
