Experience: Like most Ride bindings, I think these guys take a little bit of time to get dialed in. There are a lot of things you can tweak and adjust, but a lot of those things are tool-free now, so that helps. Once you get them dialed in, they're great. I used to ride Cartels a lot, but I prefer the Capos. The aluminum baseplate is super-responsive, and the straps really allow you to crank down tight without being uncomfortable. Not everyone likes the aluminum baseplate, and I wouldn't recommend them for a park rat, because they just don't give. Cartels have moved to a softer, more flexible hinged baseplate, which is good for tip-to-tail flex, but not as great for power transfer. Capos really seem to get all of the power to your edges. I have other Ride bindings, so I knew I would like the canted footbeds, but the thing I like the most about these bindings is the highback. It's nice and wide and flat. This allows your boot to move front to back without the highback getting in the way, but it's still always right there behind it, ready to respond. I consider these a mid flex, but it's really two different ratings. Heel-to-toe, they are very stiff and responsive. You can crank them down hard if you want to ride some steep, gnarly stuff. Tip-to-tail, the flat highback allows you some extra play, and you can loosen the straps up a bit for some extra wiggle room. My only issue is that one of my ratchets sticks occasionally. It's just the one ratchet, and it only happens every once and a while, so I'm willing to overlook it for the most part. I haven't ridden every binding out there, but these are the best I have ever owned.
