Likely a credit card/shipping address issue. Phone them. As an international customer its probably best to use skype. Costs nothing, sounds fine and the only person annoyed by it will be the person at the other end of the phone... so er, win win? 

Also remember they are in Minnesota time, so dont phone at midday your time and likely expect anyone to be there. 

Phoning is ALWAYS the fastest way to get your shit sorted out.

Yeah I am, I'm heading back in November for another 9 months I guess. Then its back to finish university unfortunately, but that's life huh! I'd say more than likely I'll head back and do another season or something like that after I finish university.. but thats still a few more years away.

The snow isn't going to go anywhere, just keep taking the trips while you can and then when you manage to get a good chunk of time off, definitely head over to Canada, its so good over there!

Yer i'm a bit old school and prefer to have hard copies of Dvds and cd's that i will like/love. That's all. Probably will end up buying with the overpriced mark up thou. Ebay only has like 2 of both for sale... and both will end up costing $50ish each with shipping anyway. haha. Damn Aus... 

Understand the brand restrictions on gear, outwear etc but on dvd's....

Bit off topic but you planning to go back to canada man? Was thinking about moving there full time when i finish my trainee/apprenticeship. Missed out on this years working holiday and at the way things are going i'm going to miss the 2013/2014 season.

I don't know about Volcom but I'm fairly certain you can purchase dvd's direct from Capita (might only be electronic copy though). It's horrible that you can't ship to fright forwarders. I used to place a lot of orders in 2009-2010, but since those restrictions came into effect, I almost do not shop at TruSnow Accordingly, I can not use a 15% discount anymore. I would be more than happy to shop locally if it was a bit more competitive, I'm all about local businesses but I'm not going to pay over $200 difference for the same product any day soon.

It probably doesn't help that there aren't very many stores locally here that sell snow gear anyway, but regardless, I'll keep buying overseas if I'm saving so much money!

So I'm looking at buying a bunch of DC items but due to shipping restrictions will have to try and do something else, is it possible to use my credit card and buy the items, have them shipped to family in US and they then ship it to me as a gift?

Or does the system recognise my billing address as being Australian and cause an issue? In which case do I either change my billing address, or will I have to get my family to purchase it for me and then forward it to me?

Decisions decisions! I just can't stand the difference in prices, DC jacket I wanted to buy on here costs $120, went into a local store to compare and figure out sizes, and discovered they were selling it for $350. Absolutely ridiculous difference.

Before you try to put an order through check the list of restricted brands too, as there seems to be some movement of some key brands to the restricted list like "Rome".

Hi Helios,

Im from Sydney, have ordered from TruSnow many times. There is no duty or GST payable on purchases under $1000 AUD, note that shipping costs are not counted. There is also no export tax from the USA to Australia.

I have ordered other goods from the USA over $1000 AUD, with these shippers like Fedex will call you asking you to pay associated duty/gst payable. Note there is a Australia/United States Free Trade Agreement where you don't have to pay duty on goods made in the USA if you supply the correct paperwork.

Lastly the shipping costs cover delivery direct to your door, it's usually with Fedex. However I usually call Fedex before delivery and ask them to hold at local depot for pickup as im not often home to accept delivery.

If you like outside the cities this may not be relevent as a third party courier would be involved.

It's been a while since i've ordered from this site but I'm pretty sure that shipping cost covers all the way to your home. 
Just a note on the shipping to your home thou. Pretty sure its tracked but not registered. So if you're not home to pick it up, they leave it at your door. (Correct me if i'm wrong)

Confirmed on the under $1000. Many people say they have, it says on the Gov, customs site and i've ordered up too $600 with no tax. 

Never got hit with an US export tax either.

Brand restrictions, look at the first post in this here thread. 

As for the question of why... well, almost all the A brands have export restrictions to protect their investment in foreign markets. Its sad, but its just the way businesses have to adapt to the reality of massive online retailers. 

Trusnow/outdoors will not send to a known forwarding company. This is a potential loophole in international agreements and the companies that TruSnow do business with strongly oppose this practice. Should it be found that TruSnow endorse this practice, it threatens their contracts with those manufacturers in the future (as well as potentially risking the prospect of legal action). 

By basically telling them what the site youre using, you force their hand on the addresses now associated with that company :) 

 

It will cost me around 50% more to buy all this gear in Australia, is it possible to use the www.myamericanshopper.com website to forward these items onto me, negating your reposibility to the brands?

I think i should add by mentioning that international restrictions also existed before march 2010. Theres only a tuiny tiny period in the life of this website (march 2010 - September 2010) where international restrictions didnt exist. And somewhat coincidentally the company which decided (somewhat unilaterally) that international restrictions no longer applied, filed for bankruptcy in June 2010 and then was almost liquidated in August 2010 before being bought by active sports in September 2010. 

So er, i guess you do the math :)

There is however two big differences between pre March 2010 and post september 2010 and its that you must verify your order (to combat fraud). AND you can no longer use known mail forwarding companies. This of course means you can still use UNKNOWN forwarding companies, but well, thats easier said than done :)

but this had been an ongoing affair for over a year.... its not new. please EVERYONE read the international restrictions page and realize that when it says on the product page that this item cannot be shipped out of the US.... its actually serious!

in december 2009 i was able to buy an Arbor board from sierra for $150 + 50 shipping USD =  $218.45 AU

in snowboard shops in two capital cities in Australia they quoted $680-$800 AUD for the exact same arbor board (not including shipping).

now in 2011 the recent models of these boards are priced on TruSnow at $300 USD (no int shipping which would be ~ $80 now) = 380 USD = $344.02 AU

and they are not even available in Australia yet. They are expected to hit the market at $1000 + AU

the only other thing to keep eye on is keeping the order under 1000 AUD

small goods like goggles/gloves/clothes can be done on the cheap

there is fixed price options with USPS (Auspost for america)

otherwise, combine a shipment with some mates and use freight forwarder

they scale good with sizeable shipments, not so good with small shipments

Hi I still have not recieved my refund from TruSnow I have been in touch with Doug, Donald and Mario, after first trying to help they have just started not responding to emails. here is my story:

 

 

I ordered on the 15.okt from Sierrasnowboards,  before the change to TruSnow After a week I was told that my order was delayed since my merchandise had already been sent to Minnesota, but that it would be sent as soon as it arrived. I waited patiently for 2-3 weeks before I contacted customer support, and was told my stuff would be sent "today or "tomorrow. this never happened. During November I was in contact with several staff on your online chat forum, which told me that I would get compensated for my troubles and get a got discount, I was also promissed trackingnr and feedback that I never recieved. I therefore started taking screenshots of my conversations with the staff, since I knew I was just beeing jerked around. If you want I can provide this.
 
Finally late november I got a trackingnr and that my order had been shipped, and I thought that my problems were over, after 3 days it said "out for delivery", but my package was in San Fransico, and I live in Norway. It had been sent to some random person. I therefore contacted cusotmersupport, which said they would redirect it to my address. I continued to check the trackingnr and to my surprise it ended up in Minnesota again. I then called again and got the message that i would not get my order because of a Burton pants which were now on the restricted list, eventhough it was not on the list when I ordered. By this time I was told that my option was a refund, which I accepted. I got 2 emails from TruSnow on the 02 and 03 of december confirming this. I had then been in contact with Doug and Donald at TruSnow 15. dec I had not gotten any money so I contacted Donald, who said you had paid, but that he would check with the bank and give me some feedback. Again heard nothing. Have send him 2 or 3 emails later, but he has stopped responding. I then started to contact Doug, which gave me the same story and has not gotten back to me.
 
After several phonecalls I talked to Mario on monday, explained the whole situation again, and he told me that you had tried to refund but there was a problem with the bank. I was promissed a solution and feedback on tuesday, and as usuall I heard nothing. I then called in again today and was told that my option was to speak with you.
 
I need someone to fix this issue, because nobody seems to get this done. I never get feedback, and when I follow up a broken promise, they just stick their heads in the sand.
 
Its now almost 4 months since I ordered, the season is almost gone, and I still have no gear. I have been lied several times and I'm feed up. All staff members I talk to are trying to push this problem onto somebody else.

Searching on products for intl. customers is on the list of discussion topics for updates to the site.  Hopefully it'll come sooner than later (and before the season starts for the s. hemisphere).

 

You can get around the international restrictions by using a freight forwarding company. I use Bongous.com they are great, they will consolidate your shipments and ship when you are ready. Their shipping rates usually work out better than other websites, and you can send whatever brands you like to them!

 

Hope this helps, as I too am very much over being over charged for ski gear (and all other retail items) in Australia. Oh and being abused by a Sydney Ski shop for purchasing online!

Realistically, given what happened to Sierra, maybe it was too good to be true.  Still plenty of bargains out there on the net though if you are clever and shop around...oh and I've never found a bargain at 'the house', so doesnt auger well for TruSnow.

 

I did join on the 22nd of Oct, but the purchase was made prior, as a guest. And yes, It was purchased during the free international shipping period, which is clearly visible on my order form. I know for sure that Arbor and Union were definitely not restricted brands at the time of purchase. I physically wouldn't of been able to make the purchase if they were and I did my homework beforehand anyway. During this time there were actually no brand restrictions.

 

So after being a patient customer, waiting 4.5 weeks; my order is to be dishonored due to brand restrictions which have only been put in place recently? This makes no sense and doesn't seem right to me at all.

Have talked with 3 separat people on the live internett chat (staff) about my order, both confirmed the zip code change and said it would be sent out right away..  The last time was friday the 29.okt. I also asked for a email confirmation that it was send. I waited a couple of more days for the confirmation, but recieved nothing.
 
Than again on the 3.11. I contacted the staff through internett chat( Mario), and got the message that: "my order has your full attention", and that the order has been left behind in the transition to truesnow. I then say that I have got the same message twice, and asked it he could sent me an email confirmation. After that the staff does not reply and after 30 min an expert user comes in and tells me that you guys are aware that there are problem with some orderes.
 
I'm very surprised on how I have been treated as a customer, and why it's so hard go give me a honest respons. Is this how you usually treat customers? and what do you do with customers that have been treated this way? It's been almost four weeks and It's not even sent. I hoping to get my gear before the snow comes...

 

I have now written to you guys 3 times on email ( NO response) 3 times om internett chat, with the same message that you would send it right away. Still nothing is sent, but the money was deducked from my card right away.
