If you go to your local shop you can get those plastic sleeves (the ones that all new boards come in) usually for free. You have to take the bindings off to fit your deck inside the sleve but it will be more than enough to protect it. <br /><br />Honestly though, in the past i've just left boards in my shed and in my room uncleaned, unwaxed, and unprotected and they are still fine. Its just more of a guarentee the first way.]]>

A "summer wax" isn't really needed, but does help when you want to take your board out for the first time in the following winter.&nbsp; We are usually all a buzz when we go out for the first time in the winter, so waxing the board and getting everything ready isn't really an issue.<DIV>If you're just looking for a way to get them out of the way for your other hobbies, taking your bindings off and putting them in a bag to store under the bed/in a closet (or whatever you chose) will make your board smaller if that's needed.</DIV>]]>

I will give my boards a quick tune-up (edge sharpen) and use SimpleGreen to clean the base and topsheet of my boards.  I will then give my board a wax coating for the summer (but won't scrape till next season).  I will put them in board sleeves and store in my basement closet upright (as to not risk pressure/chipping on the un-scraped wax). <br /><br />Then I will cry till next winter season.  <img src="http://www.trusnow.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> ]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.trusnow.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=44503" rel="nofollow">2zz</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 45328<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> Apr/02/2011 at 1:28pm<br /><br />if you wanna to start waxing yourself, it won't be a bad idea. it's a lot cheaper, goodwill iron, bout $20, a bar of wax, bout $10, scraper $5, edge tuning kit is the expensive one $30+. if your edges are good, you don't need to mess with it yet. you can tell how the edge is by rubbing your finger along the edge. a few minor knicks is okay, but its rough all over then you should tune it. i personally did't find&nbsp;any difference when i rest my board flat on the ground or set it against the wall during the summer.&nbsp;try to keep it in a cool dry place or&nbsp;any spot of the house where the temp.&nbsp;doesn't vary too much.&nbsp;ski shop will wax it for you, but you'll need to tell em you want a summer wax so they will most likely apply more wax and not scrape it.&nbsp;]]>

That is when the snow is low and you are likely to ride over rocks/branches/etc.  I just took my board in for a wax + edges, but will probably do a full tune sometime next season.]]>

But I really like my board.&nbsp;<img src="http://www.trusnow.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" alt="LOL" title="LOL" /></div><div>You shouldn't have any problem laying it down, sliding it under the bed or in the garage on a shelf (as long its not too humid/wet) but I would highly recommend a carrier bag for your board to keep dust off and away from it. The it does a good job keeping you or anyone else unintentionally banging or scratching it.</div>]]>
