People pretty much rage on MW3.  I got to play both because of my son, and I would definitely say BO2 is the superior game, especially since it has Zombies mode too, but that's just my opinion.

At least it's better than Black Ops 1 (IMHO).  I can't stand that dirty brown trash water game.

Zombies has also lost its luster after getting all the trophies.  Die Rise looks interesting though.

I loved HC most pit ricochet in MW3 and really wish it would come back.  or at least turn on ricochet and add HC domination or demolition.

I feel like does ghost helps me a bit because of the uav whores (me being one of them haha). 

If you have a really crappy team who give the opponents tons of easy kills, they have UAV up pretty much the entire match. 

I started playing hardcore more so it doesn't bother me much anymore

people used UAV's because the ghost perk is shit.  nearly pointless to use it

I think so too. My bro had the skull with glowing eyes at some point then he got deranked and no eyes. I have no clue what a perma perk is. 

 

I believe so, and you can also lose your perma perks.  I lost my metal barriers the other day.  I'm looking for some good PS3 players to do the Tower of Babel easter egg but they are hard to find.

I'm particarly fond of the MP7 with target finder, long barrel, and FMJ as my go to gun.

Also B23R is pretty sweet too.

I can't decide if its a good or bad thing. It really doesn't make much difference to me. I think it could help because its really easy to spawn trap in domination. Its kind of the goal actually. So it gives the other team a chance. 

i actually like the two rounds in domination.  some maps just favor one side.

 

Agreed they have changed a few things so dudes can't just sit in corners the entire match.  I tend to stick to Kill Confirmed, FFA, or Deathmatch to avoide the campers that are more rampant on things like domination and demolition.  Plus the halftime thing they added to domination ruined that mode imo.

Engineer is cool but i'd rather have the extra speed so I usually just do dexterity or dexterity and extreme conditioning.   

 

Lightweight always, and either Hardline or Ghost, but honestly not impressed with Ghost.  Seems they still get me on radar even running like a lunatic.  I don't use Blind Eye because the only thing I feel it protects you from is the Hunter Killers, and if getting a huge scorestreak before dying is your deal, ninja isn't for you. 

 

Dexterity is key so you can scale jumps and ladders super fast and either Engineer or Extreme for the second.  You already have so much indurance with only the knife Extreme can be a bit overkill so usually Engineer.

 

I also rock Cold Blooded and usually scavenger, or if that's not unlocked yet, extra bettys or hats.

what perk 3's are you running?  I imagine engineer and extreme conditioning?  on perk 1 do you run ghost/blind eye or ghost/lightweight?  i can see a point for either

That's because with the terrible coding in this game, the worse your connection is, the better response time you get.  They basically create artificial lag for players with really good connections.  Guns are the definition of unreliable in this game.

 

Agreed, I put all my points into 6 perks, a betty and a black hat or shock charge.  It's like being an invisible super ninja with a gold knife. 

Other than that not much different from the other games in the series.

Yea HC game modes are basically COD easy mode from playing around with them over  Thanksgiving break.  It doesn't matter what gun you use, one shot kills.  That rewards the SMG hip fire pray and sprayer, not the person with skill that can fire a steady stream of bullets without letting the recoil interfere.  Not a fan, especially with the respawn after death requirement in those modes.

 

Kill confirmed, Free-For-All, and Team Deathmatch are pretty much the only playable modes at this point.

 

What is the headglitching I keep hearing about? 

 

I play with my ninja class 99% of the time now because of how broken the guns are.  I'd rather take my chances on whiffing with the knife (which happens too often when I literally cannot get past someone that is in front of me), than unload 10 bullets into someone and still die when their first bullet hits me.

I've got 15 kill streams just running between a few points on CTF.  between that and the head glitch, this game is crap.  

 

1 more bloodthirsty with the knife and I unlock gold.

 

Also, found out in Zombies Tranzit mode you can permanently unlock perms that go with you even into a new game.  Pretty cool.

ehhh I dont think its better than MW3. the maps are really fun though. 

more or less its the 2025 version of a M-16 with the 3 shot burst.  I play on a dream team and we will betty/elec up an area and bullet fiesta the other team.  20-30 kill margin wins are not uncommon.  

 

What was different about the hardcore game mode?  I thought there were no perks in HC.

I play HC only, so the SWAT is pretty overpowered, especially with the dex/grip combo, its as fast as a SMG. 

on the SWAT I always have the aim grip and have one class with the target finder, the other with the simple reflex.  

no secondary, I prefer to knife your ass if it comes to that 

 

What setup you running Zakk?  It seems everyone has jumped on the elec/betty combination.  I see those scattered everywhere now.

I have 4 more 1st place Free for All matches to get my cool Conan nameplate.  The first 40 went pretty smooth with me winning pretty much 3/4 of the matches, but starting yesterday I was just way off and getting those last 10 has been brutal.  I think I was having connection issues though as the killcams were showing I wasn't even getting shots off when I thought I was unloading first on most of my 1:1 showdowns.

"similar but different". there is a "future spin" on some things like the equivalent of a riot shield can be planted on the floor to free up a slot or let you run faster once it's off. i'll not spoil anything else

the multiple branching patterns in SP is actually a REALLY nice twist in the fps genre, not one often seen in non-rpgfps(that accronym looks like i just threw up or typo'd) games. but overall...a very familiar feel

Nope its working fine now. The only major problem now is that the game is making my PS3 freeze pretty often.

 

One tip, don't go into the mist.....nothing good comes from the mist.

I heard it had to do with anyone that setup Elite, like myself.

Its very annoying cause I can play with other accounts but not on my main one I started with.

One thing I do love to death so far in BO2 is NO SECOND CHANCE!!!!

 

You only need tokens to unlock the gun initially, you earn all the attachments by using them.  What I'm not sure of is if those attachments stay unlocked after prestige, which from what I heard I think they do.  I have heard complaining about the token system but personally I don't have a problem with it.

Played for about 8 hours last night and yeah, the spawn points are completely F'd up.  IN typical tryarch style, working on weapons is now useless as you need f'n coins to get unlocks.  The point style kill streaks is interesting, not sold on it yet.  

The guns are all screwed up.   sniper riles can be fired off with almost no recoil, the sub machine gun class is way overpowered (as it has been in the past 3 titles).  Hardcore game mode only has 3 team based game modes, and if you're playing the little girl regular modes, it takes an entire clip to get their screen red and you have to pray another team mate is also firing and you get the kill bullet. 

I'm already over it.  

 

Is there an endpoint, or is it just middle areas for Zombie mode?  My main attraction was there was finally a way to beat zombies.  My son and I haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

 

Played it a bit yesterday, I actually really like the way you can totally customize your layout.  I also enjoy the map much more than the maps in MW3.  I agree with Zakk that grenade throws are better but I disagree about the graphics, I think they are very clean, and they have much better use of different lighting.  Plus the echos on the canyon level are pretty cool.  Plus the way you earn killsteaks/scorestreaks makes playing objectives and shooting down enemy support more rewarding.

I had no problem spending 60 bucks on it because I'm a COD fan. I mean it is really fun but very different from battlefield. I definitely like it more than the first black ops but I still think the modern warfares are better. I'd say get it if you're bored of your battlefield.

admirable effort but it's not "future" enough. go too far and you get "ghost recon territory". go even FARTHER and you get halo.

IW/treyarch needs to find a new IP. SURE, it's fine to keep pumping out speed/crack style gameplay but not the same damned thing over and over...or "map updates" in the form of $60 game discs

I tricked myself into thinking Fallout New Vegas was kind of a FPS instead of an RPG, and stopped when clear headshots were just missing.  Stupid RPGs.

The OG one was really fun, and I played the shit out of that game until everything started to get hacked.

MW2 was still fun as well, but the ease of noob tubing and camping was frustrating at times.

MW3 is eh, I mean it's basically just new maps for MW2. I actually wanted to go return it the day after I bought it since I was pissed I paid $60 for it.

Since they came out with the Infection playlist though, it's all I've been playing, and that's really fun. I haven't put on Team Deathmatch in forever.

Probably won't buy another COD game ever again. It's consistently gotten worse since the OG Modern Warfare. And I'm talking just the Modern Warfare franchise, not even World at War or Black Ops. Those do not even deserve to be associated with COD.

 

9.0-9.5, count on it.  Don't think for a second sites like IGN don't get money to give good reviews for these games.  No matter how good/terrible it is, it will sell millions upon millions of copies.
