i'm not very familiar with ride bindings, so i'm not much help there

from union, good budget bindings would be the DLX if you want to spend the least (still a great binding) or the flite.  from burton, the custom is actually a pretty good binding these days, and of course the standards like the mission are great as well. it's the same price as the force but you can find them on sale much more easily.  there are more options, but those are just a couple off the top of my head.

Thank you for clearing that up, that helps with my decision. Also, are there any other options you would suggest? I've considered the ride EX. it's not so much the actual flex of the plastic that makes it differ from the force, but the baseplate design and overall design as well.  the contact base flexes in relation to the board a more than the force base.  it's more of a "loose" ride, whereas the force is more responsive and pretty grounded, not to say it's an uber stiff or aggressive ride, because it's not.  more of a standard solid medium like most bindings out there.

you may be progressing, but the force is a binding that is not really outside of anyone's "ability" as if there is such a thing as that in the first place.  if i were you, i would go for the force for the type of riding you are going to do.  they will be fine for you now and in the future as you progress. if you were looking to focus mostly on jibs, rails, and park stuff, i might recommend the contact more.

I was wondering if anyone had any input on if I should go with the union contacts or spend the extra $30 for the forces? I'm a progressing rider and don't do much park at all and I enjoy more carving and going fast than park.
