She speaks the truth. Heating the board and the sticky up really make a great bond. I've never really had a problem with them falling off, so this system must work.

If you are coming off the lift and your foot is planted firmly down you'll be fine 100% of the time.

I like the bigger plastic spike Dakine. $26 on a stomp pad is pricey imo. But if you like it, hey, why not?

And that's a good idea. It reduces the adhesive surface area and allows the board to flex naturally so that it won't peel off.

I got a couple of the round transparent burton pads, theyve got a couple spikey stuff as well and works allg

You just gotta make sure you attach it properly, warm up the bottom of the pad before you take the protective sheet off the sticky part and put something heavy on top of the pads and leave it overnight after the attachment

Its Scotch 3M slip-prevention pads, theyve got real strong grip and glue apparently

Theyre probably ones that interferes the least with the topsheet graphics

which is exactly what I want because my new board is going to have my design on it... haha

These are also real cheap as well, and quite replacable if one comes off, you can make any shape you want as well

dude the pyramid things are freaking awesome they don't ice up unlike every other stomp pad, and you can keep a few out that way if one decides to pop off you have spares unlike the one piece stomp pads where one is all you've got. I would go beyond just using windex for prep. I would recommend alcohol or paint degreaser. I am not sure if acetone would eat the surface or not. Alcohol should be plenty good. My advice after this weekend: get a medium or small size stomp pad at a local store and I recommend that it has metal studs. The metal studs will hold the boot fairly well, like this:

Don't bother with a huge stomp pad because it will just peel off. The reason for it is that it hardens in cold weather and cannot flex with the board. My buddy's (large) stomp pad came off on Sunday when he was doing a one-foot manual in the lift line. Nothing special but the pad just zipped right off his board like it wasn't even attached. It was the same Burton pad above. Waste of time and money. If you desperately need a large pad, just use lots of small ones instead.

If I could recommend any stomp pad it would have to be Crab Grab Mini Claws. I just got mine about 2 weeks ago. Best thing ever!! I love them, you have to experience them. All the riders who do 1 footers (Scott Stevens, Bode Merril) use them.

They are 12.50+shipping but worth it

Most I'd spent on a stomp pad was $7 bucks. It was a Burton stomp pad gel thingy that was transparent. That's the only reason I got it because I didn't like my board getting covered up. I wouldn't spend lots of money on this kinda stuff LOL

...or you can make your own for free. I've seen all kinds of home made stomps, including a mini nerf football cut in half, a small piece of carpet and a metal car name badge just glued to the deck. Any small 3D item will work. As long as it sticks up about 1/4 inch from the topsheet, you're good. Get creative.

"Prep" by cleaning that area of the board, and briefly heating that same area with a hair dryer. Also, you'll want to peel the sticker off your stomp pad, and heat that a bit with the hair dryer, too. Press warm to warm. Clean the surface with some windex or any de-greaser. Warm the area up with a blow dryer for 20 seconds or so (just enough that it becomes warm) then stick the pad on. Step on the pad but don't twist, let it sit for a day before you ride.

It is all about prepping the board as to how long they will stay on. I am sure some may have inferior adhesion to others. Make sure you prep the surface well, dont just wipe it clean and stick on the pad.
