Some of us don't like regular strap bindings for a variety of reason. No one asked about strap bindings here.

That being said, I'd ridden Flows for years. I last had a pair of the Flow teams with the magnesium bases and loved them, despite the issues with hardware. The one thing I didn't like about Flows is lack of adjustability/tunability/customizability of the top strap and that made them less comforatable and responsive if they didn't fit you right.

I switched to Cinches when they came out because I liked their strapping and mechanisim. I've had just about every model from previous years, but have not tried the canted footbeds. Typically, higher end models are lighter and have more adjustability features. I like everything about the Cinches, but the weight. That's gotten better, but there's still plenty of room for improvement.

I found out about the Gnu bindings late last season and am going to try them. I actually just bought a pair recently, but won't be able to try them out until next season. They seem lighter and simpler than the Cinches. We'll see.

If it ain't broke... I don't want any unnecessary moving parts on the mechanism that's connecting me to my board. More moving parts= more options for something to break, and strapping in literally takes less than 10 seconds- just find your balance and don't sit down. Done. You can even do it on your way down the hill.
