Ok fellow shred heads.. So the 06-07 Snowboarding season is upon us. Here's a few tips to get you good and ready =D For those of you whose season has already ended due to injury, court dates, perhaps jail time, lack of cheddar to put in your tank if your so unlucky as to have to commute, or even appointments for AA... just some thoughts to prepare for next year..
To prepare for the snowboarding season, try these activities and preperations before you go to the mountain: Soak your gloves in water and store them in the freezer after every use. Fasten a small, wide rubber band around the top half of your head before you go to bed each and every night. If you wear glas*es, begin wearing them with glue smeared on the lenses. Throw away a hundred dollar bill - now. Download all of last years snowboard video soundtracks onto your iPOD. Hide in a freezer box with your eyes closed and day dream your on the slopes. Go outside, close your eyes, throw your cell phone as far as you possibly can. Now open your eyes and try to find it. |

I believe that I should win the Burton Retro Twin Board; not for myself but for my wonderful husband. Who is a great father of three little girls and honestly deserves a break from all of his hard constant work and not to mention a break from his wife.
I wrote this poem on his behalf:
MAY I GO TO THE SNOW WHERE I FEEL FREE?
MAY I GO?
MAY I GO NOW?!
DON'T YOU THINK THE TIME IS RIGHT?
MAY I SAY GOOD-BYE TO PAIN-FILLED DAYS OF WORK AND ENDLESS NIGHTS?
I AM LIVING MY LIFE AND HAVE DONE MY TIME, AND AN EXAMPLE I HAVE TRIED TO BE, SO CAN I TAKE THE STEP BEYOND AND SET MY SPIRIT FREE?
IT IS AT THE MOUNTAIN WHERE I WANT TO BE.
SOMETHING SEEMS TO DRAW ME TO THE SNOW; LOVING AND LIGHT.
CLOSER TO GOD I FEEL, AS THE LIFT TAKES ME TO WHERE I WANT TO BE.
AT THE TOP AT THE BEAUTY HE HAS GIVEN US!
I WANT TO GO!
I REALLY DO!
BUT I WILL TRY TO LIVE JUST ONE MORE DAY IN THIS PAIN FILLED WAY WITHOUT THE SNOW WITHOUT THE BEAUTY WITH OUT THE PEACE
SNOW WONT BE FAR, I PROMISE THAT!
WE WILL ALL BE AT THE TOP IN THE GLORY AND THE BEAUTY THAT GOD HAS SET ASIDE FOR ALL OF US.
WE WILL ALL SOON BE FREE!
I DEDICATE THIS TO MY WONDERFUL & DESERVING HUSBAND. WHO ALWAYS THINKS OF OTHERS BEFORE HIMSELF. I LOVE YOU!

Ever since childhood I always wanted to shred
Sadly, St. Louis winters are as inactive as the dead. My first snowboarding attempt ended in disaster Titanium plates, eight screws, and a pre-surgery visit from my pastor A large plaster cast canceled my virgin trip to surf real mountains And I found myself wanting to drown…possibly in a public fountain. You’re not a failure until you refuse to get back on your feet I told myself I would not be beat Winter is not far away It grows closer and colder everyday Today I still attack the white stuff And continually ask God for several feet of fluff Now attending school in the Windy City Writing-out rent checks leaves me searching for pity But sad-puppy-eyes Earn zero sympathy from a condo full of guys Empty bank accounts leaves me without new gear But oh how I would cherish a fresh Retro Twin this year I dream of cuddling a new Burton ride I want to fall asleep with her by my side Sierra Snowboard has the power To make my dream a reality in a distant hour Please vote for bsimon2 And my love for you will always be true Wrap that Retro Twin up tight And send her on a four-hour-flight Patiently as possible, I’ll wait For Mr. UPS to deliver my long lost date I kneel at the foot of my bed and pray for your support And beg that no one sells this poem short So thanks for your time And for tolerating my rhyme Good luck to all And please hang this poem on the victory wall The end |

My entry Well i deseve this board because in labrador we dont got a good name barley anyone knows of this part of the provence unless i mention newfoundland , and seal clubbing . Well in labrador city we get alot of powder and just imagine a burton retro shreading the powder like a knife in butter and hucking off of cliffs . In a place where the real 15 inches of snow falls, No not marble mountain but good ol' smokey mnt where we make do with what we get through donations for the park. Also we dont got a good board shop so all of our snowboards are ordered from a catalog and none of us in labrador is privledged enough to ride such a nice board.also if i where to get this board i would spend the time from now to when our hill first opens i would be worshiping it ,sleeping with it, buying new bindings a boots for it and making sure it was never abused and allways used.

So Sierra I thought You should know...
I learned to snowboard last winter. The Monday after my first trip to Tahoe I went online and found your site. I brought a whole set up. You had it to me by the following Thursday so that I could shred again on Friday-Sunday. I was officially addicted. I went off a couple jumps and fell a bizillion times. But it is oh so worth it. Can't wait to do it all again. |

I am artist/snowboarder that has been riding for 14 years. I love snowboarding and art. I am pretty creative with my art and would love to be creative on that retro burton twin this season. Enjoy the website and music.
If interested, I can trade one of my martini paintings for that retro?

I know I'm going home.Moving on up through the world exploring, fascinating myself. Treacherous climbs are guarenteed. Those are overcomeable. It's the noises in my head that got me worried. They keep telling me subliminally that I'm due for a fall. I know I'm in it to win it, no guarentees, no mistakes allowed. Not this time. Not like last time. |

I believe I should WIN for a number of reasons, requisite, social gain and economic relief.
Firstly requisite, in the Australian summer of 2007 I will be travelling to Japan for a snowboard holiday. I have two choices, rent a junky snowboard of purchase one for myself. The rental option restricts the extent to which I can push the board, for fear of its faulty structure disintegrating beneath my feet. The option of purchasing a board has its drawbacks due to cost and availability. The 2006 season has ended in Australia and stocks are limited. The social gain achieved by both the winning of a competition and the acquisition of a snowboard will provide me with an increased social status. An acquaintance of mine owns a home at a resort and considers themselves superior to me. This person is currently riding a Hammer and is pleading to be brought a new Burton. If I were to present a new Burton their perceived superiority would be considerably diminished. The economic relief factor of receiving a free snowboard can be incorporated into the requisite argument, but I thought it necessary to outline this key aspect. I am a student completing the HSC year at high school. Next year I aim to move to Sydney and attend university. This will require accommodation, food, transportation and general life support. My bank account will not hold me up for long and any financial as*istance would be appreciated. To buy a snowboard would mean digging into that account and placing added pressure on my studies next year as I would be required to find a job. The “gift” of a free snowboard would indeed be most pleasing and beneficial. For the artistic production I would like to direct you to the three videos in the linked page. They are representations of: a test of courage and fear conquest. Edited by brodster - Oct/07/2006 at 4:49pm |

Hey, Renee. You might, and I am not 100% sure, be able to make the .ppt and then save it to somewhere like filelodge.com and insert the link to it on your post. That would be the easiest way. The other way, if you have a website, is to save the ppt in an html format and post it on your website then hyperlink it in your post. Either way its do-able.
