Infinite...I want to buy a snowmobile...definitely in the next couple years. Such fun terrain to access that is rideable.
Bru...it was awesome. Saturday was a typical spring day with slush and bluebird. Sunday closing day was busier, we got snow overnight so some dust on crust...but still warmed up and made it good to ride. Both days were fun and a good way to close out A-Basin's season. |

I have access to a couple. Problem is, I would want to ride down. Need to find someone who is just content to drag people around.

Aspen is open for this weekend only.
I'm waiting to hear on friends to see if anyone will make the trek with me...damn people this time of year. It's still snowing in Steamboat so technically winter hasn't ended. |

For sure, once basin and loveland opens back up...i'll be up for riding. I love summer but really it's a count down till shred time again.
Still seeing about tomorrow, woke up with a nasty sore throat today so trying to decide whether to ride or stay home and skate. |

I can't skate yet either. I have to wait until august
My shoulder held up really well yesterday, I rode 200 miles on my motorcycle with minimal discomfort.

I went skating today...good to get back on a longboard. Only one run off the board like mad cause a rock patch was coming up, haha |

Yeah not that into summer sports...longboard is enough for me. Soon the snow will be dropping and I'll be riding again :)
In the mean time...it's finally time for tubing the river. Thank god I can finally use my tube that has a beer holder and an area to hold 6 cans...YES! |

So there's still snow in the upper elevations. I rode St Mary's Glacier on Saturday and 4th of July bowl on Sunday last weekend...and probably going again this weekend.

I have just been in the gym everyday trying to get my shoulder back up to 100% full strength for the season. I have also been trying to get in plenty of cardio to get my lungs and legs ready for the season.

So who all is going to be weekend warriors with me this year? I have been convinced to check out the 5 mountain pass (breck, key, a-basin, vail and beavercreek). Who else we got going?

Ugh, I still don't know if I am getting a pass at all this year. I just got the news that I am going to have some probably expensive dental work done, so those funds might be dried up. In all likely hood I am just going to get a Winterpark Pass sans Copper and Steamboat. Buying for two and the money just doesn't look like it's going to be there. I also really hate the I70 shat show and it's the worst driving to Summit and Vail. Especially going home, going up, I can deal with. Getting off at 40 can knock an hour to three hours off the drive. You still get stuck but it's not as bad.
I will have my Vail Pass, Berthoud Pass, Loveland Pass, and Monarch Pass rockin' all season of course. Vail Pass is becoming a new favorite bc spot. Fairly low avy danger at the spots I've been hitting with lots of cliffs, mushrooms and generally fun natural features. It's also very easy to snowshoe in and out of if you don't have a split. I plan on hitting that up a bit more on Saturdays this season. Let me know if you are interested. I can always use more bc partners and I donate my time as a facilitator for Friends of Berthoud Pass, so I am used to taking people under my wing. |

Nice Bru on the healing! I need to use mud season to hit up the local pool and go swimming again...that worked last summer and made my legs strong for riding.
I have 2 passes this year. Steamboat/Winter Park/Copper and the Colorado Pass (Breck, ABasin, Keystone and 10 days at Vail/BC). I'll be either riding here in Steamboat or down at Keystone/Breck for the most part...early season I'll be at Loveland or ABasin or Copper. And like always hitting up demos at the mountains. On a good note...riding St. Mary's Glacier tomorrow if the weather cooperates. |

I'm down. I have an "office space" job (boo!) so I can only go on the weekends. I just started riding last year(A-basin, opening day!) but hell, I went every weekend for the whole season and blew off a week at vail and beavercreek around january. I bought the 5 mtn pass last year and didn't regret it a single bit. Im down to meet up sometime this season. I went to breck a lot last year, but I was getting into keystone later on in the season. Hopefully I can just get a decent job up in summit county in the next few years so I can go ride during the week too, I don't think I would ever miss living in denver! |

^^Yes! I got it too, cause I wanna ride both mountains at least once and even if you go once that's worth the extra $40 for it.

If you are going to ride Vail, the extra dough is worth it. Most people don't use the ten days, but if you use 2 you got your money's worth. Beaver Creek is worth a visit, and if you can get a tour guide, Vail can be a lot of fun. It's just such a big mountain that if you don't know the ins and outs, you can spend a lot of time dicking around.

I am not a fan of Beaver Creek, but I am shy to admit I have never been to Vail. It's one of maybe 3 resorts in CO that I haven't been to. I am just thinking that Bru and I will mainly be weekend warriors because of work, Vail is almost an hour further in. The only time I could really use the pass to Vail and BC would be around the holidays when it's blocked...

I should have 1-2 open seats when I drive (not including bru) on most weekends. All I ask is to share gas and I leave early (through denver usually before 615, now this year might be different if we are staying in keystone more.

Make sure you do! $40 for 10 days that would other wise cost you $93 a day. I don't know if you have rode there before but I love it. The extra hour drive is nothing compaired to the freedom you get on the five back bowls or the sick tree runs in Blue Sky Basin (across from the back side bowls!) This place is Fing huge.
I'm moving up there in a few weeks!

problem is the extra hour in the morning is an extra 3 at night. The time when I could actually use the 10 days is blacked out. So I will probably put that cash towards a 4-pack to WP and Copper, since Copper is one of my favorite resorts.

I am torn about what to do. I went to vail one day last year and since I didn't have a tour guide like killclimbz suggests I was freaking lost and unhappy all day. It seemed like for every 10 minutes of good riding I spent 20 minutes skating through a flat. $40 bucks isn't a whole lot especially since it is $90+ for a one day ticket. I will most likely be buying my pass 2 weeks from today so I guess I will decide by then. infinit if I get one of these houses I am looking at then it should be easy to meet up in the morning. They are all in the westminster/arvada area which puts me closer to the mountains. That drive from the DTC sucked.

I went up to Vail for the first time last year (I haven't lived in CO for too long) and we ended up in Blue Sky Basin about 3/4 through the day. Vail can be very confusing and I would by lying if I said it wasn't : P A tour guide helps, but if you don't get one, I found it to be more fun if you go without a specific plan of "where to go, what runs to hit, etc". There are a lot of flats, but I think thats more noticeable when you are trying run between all of the peaks instead of enjoying one or two for the day and coming back later for the rest. I REALLY noticed the flats when they started closing the mountain and we had to come all the way back from Blue Sky Basin. It took us a good 45+mins to get back to the Lionshead village!!!

Yeah vail is freaking massive. It didn't help that it was overcast and snowing plus I had bstimret with me and he is from Georgia and it was like his 3rd day snowboarding all year or something. We were a freaking mess together. We left halfway through the day and went to breck for the burton demos.

^^^^ Yeah, it was dumping on us too in Vail, that was friggin awesome!! I can see why it wouldn't be such a great experience with a beginner taggin along, but I guess we were all there at one point.... Its funny that you brought up the Burton demos. Me an my girl were at the Burton flagship store in Vail and she was gonna demo a Feelgood ES until they told us it was going to cost $60!!! I was thinking "why would I PAY $60 to demo a board???" That money would be MUCH better spent on alcohol at the end of the day
Did they charge you to demo at Breck? I've never demo'd anything up on the hill before, but it seems like the manufacturers wouldn't (shouldn't IMO) charge to demo equipment if they are trying to attract business.....
