Hi Guys,
I just waxed my board. Followed all the instructions in the video, pretty straight forward. I did notice the top sheet get quite hot to touch at one point. Almost to the point of burning my fingers. I did let it cool down at this point. Have I damaged my board in any way? |

hey!
so as long as there is no visual damage to the bottom, or you can feel any bumps you should be totally fine. |

Uhhh... I think I may have damaged my board in one spot while waxing...
I might've focused on one spot a little too much as now there is a visible spot on my board. Here's the thing, the spot is the color of the wax, green, but it's also the color of the lettering on the chb mtx, so idk if it is a wax buildup or if I melted the p-tex or something and it mixed with the wax. So it's this green spot, and I can't seem to scrape it off like the rest of the wax. The area feels raised slightly like wax that isn't scrapped off though, no bumps, but that unsmooth feeling. If it's some sort of excess wax clump that was absorbed into the base, will this eventually go away after riding? I'll see if I can post a pic. I just hope I didn't damage the lamanent and if I did I hope it's fixable.

Anyone have any suggestions on what the spot is on my base and what I could do about it?

A picture would definitely speak a 1,000 words in this case.
Ideally, if you feel the top sheet getting warm, it's a clear indicator that you want to move the iron off to let your snowboard cool down. The reason is so that you don't burn/dry out your board. Let's hope there was no damage to your board, but we'll have to see as soon as you can get a picture posted. |
