if i went through 200 drug tests, over the last 13 years, and just ONE OF THEM was "re-tested" and came up positive...yeah, i think i'd "give up" too.
the USADA has no power to "strip him" of any title or rank (a US organization has no say in what happens in the tour de france, lawl) and he can't bike for ANYTHING the USADA has jurisdiction over (which happens to be absolutely nothing! :D). by doing this, win or lose, he gets to keep his non-profit and keep fighting cancer. the USADA has been doing this for YEARS to him and have apparently gone drunk with power (lol overstepping authority)and have judged him to be guilty until proven innocent. (serirously, all they did was keep accusing him for the past 13 years and will PROBABLY keep doing it until they get a guilty verdict, then turn around and say "we told you we would get you"...douchey...) |

I just have a hard time believing that in a sport where doping is rampant, I mean a real epidemic, where other champions were doping, that the guy that was better than them all was 100% clean.

Nike has chosen to stick by him (good for them!)
as for the USADA...i agree with them because i believe a government organization needs to protect us from professional retired athletes that use steroids /s seriously, i wish the USADA had...oh...i don't know, more important things to do...rather than harass athletes. let the sport decide what to do with its players, not a farking gov. organization.

Cadel Evans may be awarded the moral victor of the ?05? tour. He finished 8th and the 7 who finished before him have all been found guilty of doping. It seems like everyone is doping and it's just a matter of getting away with it

i dont really get what the "winners" will get...the prize money is gone and there's no way they can retroactively be repaid for the LOST sponsorships...

retroactive stripping of wins is worthless..they'll just have to do it again when the runner up gets accused of doping too...

The thing is they have no evidence to prove that Armstrong was doping and he was tested all the time when he was racing and nothing came up. The guy was just better than everyone else, kind of like Jordan or Tiger. Armstrong is just smart enough to quit and not go broke defending something he can't win.

Well too its just the us anti-doping agency that stripped his tour titles-most likely the international agency will not

I didn't even realise it was on. Would be a wise bet to bet on the big 4 making the semis once agian. Men's tennis has become so predictable these days but it is still great to watch the best of the best battle each other

interestingly enough, for some races they've gone as far as stripped the title for the OTHER 22 riders behind lance...honestly, i think they're all doping at this point and chances are, he probably doped too. if anything, they SHOULDN'T go after everything already done...just do the next comp with better restrictions

A great career, unfortunately for him he played in an era that had such dominant players so was never really considered the best at his game. Certainly a great career though

Not a bad choice.. Defensive teams don't seem to win championships these days.... passing teams do. Or, have recently. |

Eh the loss of Suggs is huge to the Ravens superbowl chances.
I'll take the Bears with Matt Forte for superbowl MVP |

I agree about the Ravens. I also think the Bears will do well this year. Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall reunited along with forte in the backfield is a pretty potent offense, and their defense is solid as well. As much as I can't stand Cutler, I see them getting pretty far this year, not sure about super bowl, but they are definitely making strides. My Super Bowl picks would have to be Patriots or Texans vs Packers or 49ers. If I had to pick just 2 I'd go with the Texans and 49ers

^^^ I'm really happy Andy won! Amazing how he came from that devastating loss in the Wimbledon finals, then Gold in the Olympics, and now USOPEN Champ! He was right when he said, "Well, I'm getting closer."
As for that Brit comment, "If he wins, he's one of us, if he doesn't, he's one of them." I HATE that quote and whoever said that, shame on them! |
