New topic -- any tips on how to rock butter all the way around 360?
I have been working on tail press to a butter 180 to come out switch. When I have tried to go all the way around 3 ... I dunno ... I just wuss out on the nose press part and just plant my back foot down. Any tips on how to break through on this?

board I've actually been thinking on this very thing. The concept I came up with involved pretty much practicing doing 180 butters while switch, and then once comfortable, just transitioning from one to the other. Like, do a 180 butter from regular, once you've completed it instantly shift to the new front and do another. I don't think it's possible to do an entire spin from the same pivot point while traveling down the mountain.
It might require learning to do your switch butters pivoting off the heelside to make it look smooth. I've just been conceptualizing though, no real-world experience ![]() |

Eye ... that's a good idea ... except the transition would be
1) regular tail to switch nose to regular tail 2) or switch tail to regular nose to switch tail ... Hmm ... I think I could do 2) ... 1) seems hard to me still since I only kinda have nose presses down regular ... good thought ... I will be sure to spend some time wrecking this weekend.

just whip it around and see if you fall, eventually you will learn the balance necessary
The regular tail to nose to reg works better for me |

Don't be afraid to catch an edge. Sometimes when I'm moving too slow and feel my rotation slowing down, I'll purposely catch the edge to some degree so that it whips me around... kinda hard to explain.

hmmm ... i think i get it. kinda like planting the edge and then giving you somewhere to push off from to continue the rotation .... right?
doing it ... well that's another story

Yes, it is possible to do from the same pivot point. It's also better looking and fun ![]() Example: |

Alright, i'm half asleep...but heres how I've gotten around to doing them.
First, get comfortable just spinning around on the ground in one direction. Like be able to do two complete spins without thinking with the board flat. Then, start doing one of these (I'm regular and do this...frontside? Whatever I start turning with my back foot and have that go around...) and then basically do a press on it for a full rotation until you're switch. When comfortable with that, just do it...and hold the press and swing the front leg around again. Make sure you change edges, otherwise it hurts. I doubt that made any sense...but who knows. |

I think it's important to see in the video how the guy is continually rotating his shoulders ahead of his feet ...

i just learned how to do a lot of spins while buttering you just have to test the flex of your board and find your spinning balance while on your nose or tail its hard for me to explain

um, that was one of the most awesome things I have ever seen.
one thing i picked up from that video is how there is an up/down move (or flex/extend for you AASI nerds) to get the thing moving ... pretty cool!

Getting a V-Rocker board deffinetly helps you out for buttering.
