I once thought about laying down some turf in my backyard with a jump and a homemade box but decided that was a little too desperate. Then i bought a longboard SO FUN! make sliding gloves and learn to longboard. Be careful though i have almost killed myself a couple times

Come surf the freezing cold waters of nor-cal. You'd think surfing is a warmer sport than snowboarding but it really is not. Soon you will be able to ride down the mountain in shorts. But be careful, salmon season is coming soon and so is mr. white

I live in west coast of FLorida so we dont have a lot of good waves for surfing so I resort to Windsurfing. Its pretty rewarding, I dont have to catch any waves, and I could ride forever on it. Its something to look into for those who live near the coast.

I find that skateboarding/longboarding down big hills is sometimes just as satisfying as snowboarding, the only problem is that you have to walk back up the hill.

Bombing down hills on a longboard is a lot of fun. If you wipe out though... hurts a lot more. If you find a near empty garage those are fun too.

yup, did this last july with alpine heliski out of queenstown. $500USD got us 4 runs (regular price is $800 but we got a last minute deal). it hadn't snowed in weeks so we got frost dried powder but the last 2 runs were phenomenal. crossed off another thing on my bucketlist. still editing the video but will try to post when i get a chance. |

Windells in Mount Hood, OR. I've been there once and it was a pretty good place to board in the summer.

I've heard it's far more challenging than dangerous...well, that is assuming you're not learning on a shallow coral reef. |
