these are some gnarly boots...heavy metal all the way. No skimping on materials...even the insoles are keepers. They have RECCO, too...if that matters.
Heat molding liners, great heel hold and fit....but they were too stiff and heavy for my style. I'm guessing they'll take a very long time to break in, but will also last much longer than most boots. Nice wide toe box, like all vans boots. the metal bars on the boot's lower loops were quickly popped off by my bindings. These bars are decorative and the straps are double stitched...still uncool. Standard lacing didn't turn me on either.in my opinion, these are 100% freeride/backcountry specific boots for the truly advanced rider. I can't imagine anyone needing anything stiffer than these. |
