The best resort would be whatever resort you want to ride at the most
For me I think Whistler would be the best For Tahoe resorts I would pick Squaw then Alpine and Heavenly even though I don't like Heavenly but the nightlife would be good and you don't really need to drive far in South Lake/Stateline Any position that's not too laborous would be good The lift operators are pretty chill and so are the ticket checkers. I hear the guys that drive the cats and groom love it. They groom at night and ride during the day |

the best place to work is the resort that you like that has job opening...
usually those jobs fill up pretty quick, so its better to apply early. |

For me, I love riding, and so I love teaching. I love spending all my time on the snow.
If I were looking I'd look to where I could get work and where I could ride. For instructors, I'd see if there was a clear lineup (so I could ride between lineups) rather than having to sit around all day waiting for a gig. I'd also see what training the mountain has ... can I learn form the riders there ... are the committed to making me a better rider. Lastly, if I were in it for the $, I'd ask about the clientele and the tipping culture. Pays to be near major metro areas for that or a major destination.

Don't expect to be paid much. I've had buddies work at lodges and they barely got by. If you stay there year after year it's a different story somewhat.

Ive only done one season at Whakapap Nth Island in N.Z and for me it was wicked, worked in snowmaking which hands down is the best job ive ever had (if you dont mind working nights away from the party scene and also its freezing!) and then worked in rentals which was great as well, in the middle of the day we could go for ski breaks, jus tried different boards out and had fun with the crew. Pay is enough to scrape by,
its a lifestyle not a money making scheme |

What are the usually benefits for working at a resort?
Just that you get to ride for free? |

Ride for free. Free rental. Discounts on gear and food.
At least that's what my friend says. Never worked at one. |
