I'm 6'3 around 195 lbs and have a size 13 foot, I'm looking for a full set, Board + Bindings + Boots for about 500-700, I'm going to ski-dazzle on Thursday, and want to buy my first setup. I have been snowboarding 2-3 times a season for the past 3-5 seasons but have rented every time. I finally decided it was time to spend some money and buy a board. Any help is greatly appreciate. I'm excited to see what you guys come up with. I mostly board in Big Bear CA and had a bad experience the first time I went snowboarding my buddy got taken off the mountain with a ruptured spleen so I have been a bit hesitant to try any rails, I have done a few boxes and would like the option to do boxes or rails if I want, so I was thinking an all mountain board.
So far from sizing guides I have come up with: I need a board about 160 - 164 might be able to get away with a 158w or something. With my shoe size I would probably want a board at least 255mm waist width. For Boots and Bindings I am not really sure what to look for, although I will say I would really like a comfortable boot that doesn't make my foot fall asleep, some of the rental boots I have used made my toes/ball of my foot fall asleep. Any tips or tricks to help with that would be greatly appreciated. As far as bindings go, I don't really know what to look for, I liked the idea behind the flow bindings being quick on and off, but have read some pretty negative reviews, what is your opinion? What would you recommend or look for in the way of bindings? TLDR: Looking to buy my first setup: - 6'3" - 195 lbs - 13 Shoe - $500-$700 Thanks again for all the help, and sorry for the wall of text. |

^$400 Not sure on bindings to be honest...Those are some big feet. Boots, I would say just try on different pairs give em a walk see what you think. Bend your knees in them and stuff. |
