Um that set up isn't what you're looking for if you aren't trying for the park.

the bindings and boots are good
about the board its too short for you if your 205 you need a 159 or a 160 board and the baron jumps up to a 162 i would go for a non burton board if i was you |

I'd reccomend the K2 Nemesis 161. It's got torsion forks on the tip and tail to add to your pop when you decide to hit jumps and it also has s-class risers to reduce vibration when going through crud. It is like a wide version of the all-mountain but no jib eldorado. For bindings, if you have the money, I'd get the drake podiums.

That's a pretty big budget that could easily get what you want comfortably, as long as you aren't buying the top-of-the-line (vapor, c60, ions, etc.).

Since you have the dough - how about a Lib Tech with Magne-traction.
Dark Series, TRS, or MTX series.
I just spent a week riding magne-traction. My riding on day one was way ahead of where I ended last year and I cannot see myself going back. The control that you have is awesome and even though they tend to call them freestyle, they work great on the whole mountain.
They make the Dark Series in wide.
If you like Burton, go for it, they make good stuff. It's fashionable to dis them but they make good stuff and keep progressing the industry. I love the P1 bindings. The boots are probably good but ugly this year.

Nu-Nu - didn't believe it until I rode it myself - I went searching for ice and all you could hear is the board cutting through it. I took a pretty good wipe on an ice patch at Sunday River on Downdraft last year and I have no doubt this board would have handled it. (Not a paid Lib endorsement - although I wouldn't turn it down!!!) |

i definitely believe you EDK007. I'm just jealous about all the good things I hear about it. i finally got to see all the boards in person this season at my local shop and the serrated edges are barely noticeable. it looks more like a damaged board but from all the good things i've heard about it, i'm sure it's a given that this board is
for east coasters.

not sure why everyone is hating on the 157 baron. waist width is 258. have you checked if that fits your feet?
cartels and rulers are a good choice for all-mtn killing it!
where do you live?
Ride Dose is another good choice, but may be too freestyle for ya. Also check the Burton Royale for a pricepoint board or step it up to the Baron ES.
Good luck.

i agree with hoon. the 157 baron is a great all mountain shredder with a similar shape to the popular custom

or the mean streets of Denver. smart businessman, cornering the Hispanic market. but as far as i'm concerned, he and Vanilla Ice are one in the same. not that that says anything about the board itself.
