why not?
that place is so rich, it's crazy... but yea, i guess i really wouldn't recommend it as a travel destination. it's a place to check out, for sure, but not really worth (literally and figuratively) to stay more than like one or two days |

Video Hyper Shred was just there. They haven't put up a lot of photos yet since they were (I assume) pretty busy.

I saw a similar place in Japan when I was there a few years ago. The building looked like a huge slide and I didn't know what it was until I saw the signs. Pretty sweet, but I'm much happier with the Tahoe area mountains.
I flew through Dubai on another trip and it's hard to imagine skiing there because it's so hot, dry and flat. I'm not surprised that they built one of these places with all the money they seem to have over there. |

"money they seem to have"...isn't Dubai going into massive debt. Thought I heard that somewhere. They have those man made islands as well. Pretty cool, guess some people have more money than they know what to do with or at least have borrowed more than they know what to do with.

I saw that place on the amazing race last season. It looked pretty cool. At least, you don't have to keep dreaming about skiing in summer.

I like the fact that there aren't super cold and fast winds. Although, there are only 5 runs and they don't look very long. I wouldn't spend the fortune it costs to go there, I would rather go to Whistler or Colorado.

Dubai? Hell no! Isn't that where that British couple was arrested for kissing on the beach? It's against the law to drink alcohol there too.

Oh yeah, that is also the place where Bam Margera and his wife went on their honeymoon. They ended up getting body cavity searched in the airport.

I've always been curious about places like these. Not curious enough to want to go, but just curious to see. None of these links work on the thread though and I'm too lazy to go search for myself... guess I'm not that curious after all.

They are opening an indoor ski place in New Jersey. I wonder if it will help bridge the gap between seasons.

Why settle for an indoor skiing area. Maybe they should just bulid an artificial ocean with water temp. like a jacuzee! Just make sure to have plenty of hookahs! |

In Israel they actually have a ski simulator so you basically just ski on like a really big treadmill. Really good to practice you skills but as fun as the real thing

there are such things as "simulated oceans". there are pools that could be classified as large ponds or lakes.

I was there about 5-6 years ago and took a few runs. If your there living in the desert, I think it's pretty cool to get out of the heat for some turns, and they occasionally have some fun park features set up. Don't know why some are giving the place a bad rap. There's lots to do, sort of like Vegas on steroids.

its handy for the location if you live in the area, but if you've ever gone to a real mountain then its a bit of a let down. since there arent any mountains nearby it makes obtaining gear difficult so your kind of forced to just rent their gear. who's going to pack snow clothes and a board to dubai?
you're better off packing alcohol and shorts.

You need a sarcastic font, vermont.
That and imagine the mass of beginners crowding the run. Its not like there bc you escape to either. |
