just lookin for a bit of advice. I love to edit film and make videos, every year i want to get a bunch of boarding footage but i hate takin my camera out cause i dont want to break it so it slows me down. I guess i am just wondering if anyone has any tricks of the trade to make this less of a problem. I realize there prolly is no really good solution but hey, let me know.

I think Samsung and a couple others have sports cams that you can attach to the helmet if you got the money to spend on it.

1) Get one of these cameras and stick it on your helmet.
2) Connect it to your camcorder. (Or another portable video recording device)
3) Put your camcorder in your backpack. My Panasonic GS400 has a wired remote control so I can start and stop recording without opening my backpack.
4) Ride.
If you want a cheaper Option you can buy a mini CCD camera as I did, and make your own housing from aluminium.
You can build such a camera for much less than $100 (price depends on resolution and quality).
And cheapest solution is invented by a friend of mine. Mount your mobile phone on your beanie.
Hope

Ha ha I was like that penguin with my finely crafted beer belly, had to give up 10 lbs. Still 4 more than last year.
