so im thinking about buying a season pass to mt high. whens the best time and whats the best price? and would it be better to get a snowsummit/bear season pass, considering that bear is an extra hour away from me.

it will go on sale in the fall. just wait for it because mt high sells it when it's nearing the season. if you want to spend the extra time, money on gas, waking up early, maybe taking double the time to get up there when it is snowing and maybe having to take 5 hours to get down the mountain then go for a bear/summit pass.
/e mt high pass = $300 bear/summit pass = $280 and up until may 30th then the price goes up. check their site for more details. |

plus you get the 2 lift tickets which you can sell so you can bring the price of the pass down to like $220. |

You only get the 2 free 8-hour lift tickets if you buy your MH Season pass during the first week after it first becomes-available/goes-on-sale... |

Mt. High season pass is really worth it man. Keep in mind the lower price for Bear is with Blackout dates. There's no blackout dates for Mt. High
They start selling around end of August and that's when you get the 2 free lift tickets (blackout dates apply) and free magazine subscription. The starting price is $299 last season, it kept increasing the longer you wait. The first time you get the pass, you need to sign a waiver and go there to have your picture taken. If you go there to pick up the pass when the season start, expect a long line. |

i don't think it's the first week for the 2 passes. i've gotten the free passes the past two seasons. i think they give you maybe a month. it's quite a bit of time. i'm pretty sure more than a week. they give some time since most people lag. and the passes usually go on sale in august. |

^ wow thats an expensive ass hell week. single day lift teckets here are 55 dollars or 65 dollars. season pass at 50% off (being 300 dollars) is apparently a great deal. go 5 or 6 times and you already get your moneys worth. i went about 15 times this season at mountain high and didnt have a season pass. which was stupid

Na-uh! It's the closest mountain to socal and the season pass is cheap. So 20 days on Mt. High practicing for Mammoth or Utah or CO is well worth it to me. I've been to worse on the east coast when I skied as a kid.

not this year. they made you still wait in line. since they can't figure out how to renew peoples passes. a lot of people who went opening day couldn't get their passes to work. only new passes. same crap last year. |

This is my 2nd year so I was renewing my pass and I did sign the waiver online and I didn't have to do anything else. Showed up with my pass from the 1st year and went straight to the lift line. I am not sure why you had to do yours there, maybe you need to have a parents' waiver or something? To whoever crapping about Mt. High. It's a local mountain located 1 hour from Los Angeles. Stop complaining. For the hours you go to Bear, I rather drive to Mammoth. Mt. High is so convenient and I never have problems. Icy conditions are the same both Bear and High, I've been to both resorts. As far assholes go, they are everywhere, what can you do about them just ignore them. |

Nope...yipperzz is old enough to sign his own waiver Did you go on the very first day that they opened? It wasn't just him that had to stand in line even though he signed the waiver already. There was a glitch or something in the system which they eventually fixed, but people were not happy that they had to stand in line when they thought all they had to do was go straight to the lift lines. |

i did the online waiver but still had to wait in 2 lines. 1 to sign in and another to turn in the paperwork and take my photo. was there on the very first day too.
going to have to do the same thing again for next season since i lost my pass. |

i would say get the bear pass unless you don't mind wrecking your board or have a beater board to use at mt. high.
there are almost always rocks on the surface of their snow, which is mostly ice btw.
the people there throw beer cans all over the mountain. there are a ton of people who will continue to ride over or ding your board in line. yea, every time i go there there are 5 or 6 deep gouges in my board on the base and top so if you like to take care of your stuff i wouldn't get the pass |

im not sure if you're riding in the parking lot dirt or what, hahahaha, i went to mt. high from preseason to spring and it was fine to me. yeah maybe a rock or two on the opening week of november but no big deal, if u can board u can ollie over it or avoid it. went to mammoth this weekend and saw a few rocks too, not to mention people banging on my tail in line as well. |

Bear/Summit is a bigger resort... the snow isnt much nicer than it is at Mt. High... Bear is quite a treacherous drive when conditions are bad... while mountain high is usually a pretty easy drive up even with snowy conditions...that being said... Mt high is the resort if you dont like waking up as early... and driving further

You don't actually have to go to the resort to wait in line and sign waivers and take pix. Mt high has a set up at Snow Jam where they do all that. I did this last year. I don't know if its something new, but its much easier than going to the resort and doing all that.

yes it was new last year. they SAID you could just sign it online and it'd be fine, so i didn't waste my time going to snow jam.
once i went to mt. high on opening day, they told everyone else a different story. you HAD to do it the day i was there. gsrrr and my other friends who renewed had to do the same shit. maybe they fixed the glitch for you guys after. but trust me. it was all over their forums and their workers told me to get in line. i DID sign the waiver. and no i'm not under 18. you guys think i'm making this crap up? ![]()
