The recent creative sale ideas...

Well it's no secret that SS Staff has been getting pretty creative with the end of season sales (cinco de mayo and the wish list sale to name a few) and with the way things are going I don't think we've seen the last of them. Trying to get rid of last seasons stock to make room for new inventory (inventory cost) and I heard you guys are moving to a new warehouse (moving/restocking cots)????? :)

Well I got a sales idea just for food for thought. How about a sale for returning customers that have purchased a board from SS in the last 6 months gets some type of deal on their next board purchase within a short time frame...

"2 days only! Buy a board in the last 6 months get an additional 15-20% off your next board purchase"

Type of deal...

Anyway just an idea!

Wow, relax. Sierra is all about sales this season, it doesn't hurt to share ideas on the next possible creative sale idea dude. Obviously you can't find sierra's prices anywhere else as is but we've been spoiled...like it or not.

And re-read my post, no one's "asking", just food for thought.

i say for every dollar you spent at sierra this year, sierra gives you that percent off. its time to get some real rewards around here.

and Vick, its people that come into these forums and make threads like this just looking for something even cheaper that annoys people, its not just me. stuff like this is just bad for these forums.
also i doubt sierra needs help with sale ideas from some random dude.
they just had a sale YESTERDAY, do you really think you should be giving "ideas" the day after a rediculous sale?

I'm gonna have to back icecoast on this. there are a lot of threads regarding sales recently and it is getting annoying now.

I might be wrong, but isn't "The Staff Pick Sale" going on this week? Which means Cinco de Mayo was just a coincidental overlap? Maybe they made the sale sweeter since it was Cinco de Mayo, but there was going to be "The Staff Pick Sale" regardless of Cinco de Mayo.

In my opinion, here is a problem with your sale of:
"2 days only! Buy a board in the last 6 months get an additional 15-20% off your next board purchase."

From a business standpoint, Sierra would want to bring it new customers or customers who hasn't been shopping here for awhile. The sale you purpose only rewards recent customers, which doesn't expand the customer base. It is a great idea for their current customer base, but they already have the point system to stay here.

I personally think these types of thread is a double edge sword. It is great because the more collaboration you get, most likely the better the ideas you get. But in the other hand, it might be a place to ask too much, be unreasonable, and/or spiteful. 

I also think it is hard for a person not working with Sierra know what kind of deals they are able to make, and what deals they cannot afford to make. Just my 2 cents.
