Have any one heard of or have had experience with Artec Snowboards?
Apparently, according to their website, you can design your own top sheet graphic and they will print it on for you. That's pretty sweet! Kind of pricey for my poor pocket. What do you guys think?

Wow, that's pretty amazing!! I guess it makes sense that they could do that. But why not let people design the base of the board too?

Burton and a couple of other companies have been doing this for a while. Its pretty expensive but if you've got the money, why the hell not!

It's a nice idea and all, but the price to get it done is a bit much. I'd probably wouldn't do it.

That's a cool idea, but for something that's covered and concealed in snow, it's kind of pointless. Plus, how could you not find a design you like out there with all of the different companies?

I've heard that Never Summer offers this. Never actually heard of anyone going this route. I'd imagine it's pretty spendy.

there is a burton site which allows you to use burton bases, for example the custom X core with your own design. but those things are out of the world expensive

I never knew you could do this, it's a cool ideal. If I did it, it would probably turn out ugly, I am not very artistic, then it would be a waste of money.

Burton had series13, they aren't doing it right now according to the website. They weren't too overpriced. I think it was about 15% retail, if I was going to by a board new, I would of done it.

I definitely see corporates doing it like coorslight and sobe do it, but for the average person I think it's too pricy. I mean I wouldn't mind having some cool comic characters overing my board like the Hulk or spiderman.

Thats really cool except to me its not worth it and I am more concerned with the performace of the board than the graphics.

I searched this a couple of nights ago, there are quite a few companies doing it, though all the ones I looked at where quite expensive.

If i wanted to customize the top sheet i would just use some vinyl or go at it with a can.
Seems to me this would be the most cost effective way of customizing the top sheet. |

That's coo that you can customize your board. Anything that's permanently customizable is pretty much a sealed investment. It will be pretty hard to sell if you get tired of the board or if something happens to your board, I'm pretty sure they would not replace it with any warranty.

There's also a handful of companies that make customizable top sheet graphics that are basically a single sticker covering your whole top sheet. boardink.com or something... A less expensive way to customize whichever board you want. That way it's semi-permanant and it's compatible for any board. Fashion meets function.

It would be awesome if Sierra did a preorder on their snowboards that allow us to send in our custom graphic, it would get printed on a board while sierra are getting their normal batches made.

Are all of these companies just using some sort of vinyl covering over the original graphics? I wonder what it takes to remove the original and print a brand new one on top, if possible.

i'm pretty sure burton actually makes "your" board just like any other burton board, but uses the images you send them. also you can pick what board you want to use, hero, custom, etc. when the site was working, i played around with it a bit, was pretty cool. i hope they bring it back. i think someone on here has one, i would like to see some pics.

That gnarly! If i had the money, i would buy one, and just hang it on the wall of my room. It's sweet for those artist riders.
