what your backyard set up, winter or summer?

i have a 5.5' high drop in with turf for the summer, 2 plastic jumps for the summer(i build better snow ones in the winter) a pvc hand rail, a pvc rail, a fun box or dancefloor box w/e theyre called (i used an old whiteboard) and im building a normal flatbox in woodshop at school.

hmm i dont know if i would go bigger, its 5.5 feet tall, with a 10 foot ramp, and kind of hard to get enough speed for my rail, its about 2 feet high, and the plastic jumps are sticky. i might go steeper next summer. i would probably go to about 6 feet, with snow itll work well through, before this i shoveled mounds of snow for my drop in shorter than this that gave me the speed. ya go 6 feet, i might prop mine up on cinder blocks of something.

haha, dont fall. i used the how to video on tws.com to make it, i just made it bigger. i couldnt get the bolts to keep it up, so i put in some screws too, it would fold with just the bolts. try and find cheap ply wood and itll probably be around 100-150. get like 2 friends and if you get everything right the first time it should be about a days work, i used spar urethane too to seal it up. measure twice, cut once.

i built a rail this summer and heard that you can use astro-turf. does it work well? i've been thinking about doing it...

ya the turf works just wet it and soap it up, works better if the ramp is steeper, you can also use snowgel. ill try and get some pics up, all my files are too big.

Last winter i built a little 4 1/2 ft drop in with some snow stairs. Then on the other side was a little quarter pipe with a built in coping.

ya ive been able to work on jibbing a lot, it builds up so much confidence for the season as well

nice boxes, im building a 12 foot 14inch wide (how wide is the average box in a park?) in woodshop at my school.

me and my buddy just made an awesome flat bar. im hopefully setting it up tomorrow :D

does anybody use a banshee bungee n their backyard during winter?

Going to my friends for backyard shredding and he has a turf drop with a pvc pipe and I should be getting a pvc pipe soon.

i like this post as over the last few winters we've tried to set up something to play on in my tiny ass backyard.  started using the stairs from the pooldeck to a makeshift  wall/hip thingy.  fun, but cramped.  last winter we got rid of the pool, used the deck as a hip/drop in for a couple maybe 8' flats, we made a 9' drop-in from the neighbors garage to our hip (in the pic).  we also figured out how to make our own snow (compressor and garden hose) as the detroit area doesn't get snow in the winter.  we had snow all winter in my yard.   it was good, but cramped.   this year- we pushed back the drop in deck (6'x10' deck, 6' tall) we'll have a 10' pvc rail, a 12' x 1' funbox (split in two for variety).  we're also making a 6.5' drop in for a wall ride/ hip drop in.  downslopes covered with cheap green outdoor carpet to hold snow.  i'll post some pics when we get the building wrapped.  we're using two snow guns this winter to max coverage so we can get going sooner.

this winter im building some boxes and rails to practice on, my hill is about a 12 ft drop top to bottom

i have a 6' drop and a rail on the bottom but we might make the drop in from the roof this year lol

sparurethane any un preasure treatedwood!!!!! and i would use carpet on it just so it holds the snow better. could u maybe post a tutorial on how u made ur snow gun? it sounds sick! im trying to get pictures up, but theyre either to big or the wrong type. ill figure it out soon

yeah i grabbed some turf from home depot off one of those huge roles for like 40 cents per sq foot

No snow down here yet, but when there is we always hit up the hill at the school around the corner from my house.

I have a big spine, a mini ramp i snow skate, a wall ride and a couple picnic tables.

if i'm lucky i'll get to make some snow tonight and tommrow for a quick session saturday.

There are some pretty nice ideas in here.  This is the first year i plan on making my on park so i will keep checking for more ideas and post what i end up making once i get them complete....

you should make something so you can 50/50 on that white, 3 tiered wall in the background   

Whats a good plastic to use for the top of a rail? I imagine PVC pipes are probably the most cost effective, but I am open to all ideas, especially for topping a box-rail
