Second episode came on last night and it kicked just as much ass as the first. I have a very good feeling this show could go for awhile. Anyone else hooked yet?

Loving the show but was not quite as taken with the second episode. Will certainly continue to watch.
Spoiler Alert* I didn't really care for how they were touching the zombie body and blood all nilly willy and that really only required 1 or 2 ppl tops not everyone had to be around there in the lab suits and only one guy had face protection... It gets harder to be engrossed in something when your sitting there thinking they definitely wouldnt be doing that. Also the primary zombie detection of the living is smell??? They picked up on the main char and his horse when they came into sight and the walkers were busting down the door of the department store to get at the living based on sight... So if the ppl inside just would have been walking with a limp on the other side of the glass the zombies wouldnt have thought twice??? |

You know it could have been my imagination, but I swear in commercials, the handcuffed guy on the roof was eaten by zombies. But, didn't see it last night.

Watched ep1...a little slow to start but it does pick up. The end leaves you wanting more, so I'll give it another couple episodes to really grab my interest. Definite potential though.

I saw a commercial for this, looked pretty good but I might wait to start watching it, I hate when shows I like get canceled right as I'm getting into them.

Good News:
The renewal that was already inevitable after last week's premiere is now official: AMC has ordered a second season for the zombie drama "The Walking Dead."
AMC made the formal renewal the day after "The Walking Dead" aired its second episode, drawing a whopping 4.7 million viewers, including 3.3 million in the key 18-49 demographic. That showed only minor audience decomposition from last week's Halloween premiere, which pulled in 5.3 million viewers, including 3.6 million in the coveted demo.
Based on the popular Image Comics series created by Robert Kirkman, "The Walking Dead" is already a third of the way through its shortened six-episode first season. Viewers will get more gory fun next season, when "The Walking Dead" will be back for 13 episodes.
"The 'Dead' has spread!" states Charlie Collier, President, AMC. "No other cable series has ever attracted as many Adults 18-49 as 'The Walking Dead.' This reaffirms viewers’ hunger for premium television on basic cable. We are so proud to be bringing back 'The Dead' again, across the globe."
As Collier implied, the "Walking Dead" renewal is also for Fox International Cable, which has premiered the series in 120 countries throughout the world.
"I wish all programming decisions were no brainers like this one," blurbs Sharon Tal Yguado, SVP Scripted Programming. “‘The Walking Dead’ is a TV masterpiece on so many levels. We want at least 10 seasons, if not more. Kudos to AMC!"

Maybe the virus gave them heightened sense of smell so that's one of their main tools. You forget that the other was hearing, which was the thing that attracted them to the department store in the first place, by the gunshots. So it's plausible that once they showed up to the noise, they got a whiff of fresh meat inside. When the main character and the horse first encountered them, the horse freaked and attracted their attention via sound. Not that I'm saying sight isn't also a part of their senses, but it might be lowered than the previous two. So it's plausible that while covering yourself in zombie guts and not making any sound except the grunting noises, you can bypass the zombies. |

The show rocks, that's for sure.
My gripe: I thought it was interesting that in the first episode when they're shooting at the guys getting out of the car (before the main character gets shot) they are all terrible shots, and all of a sudden post coma he hits everything he shoots at. I'm looking forward to seeing that creep that's with his wife getting eaten by zombies in one of these episodes. |

I have been reading the comics for about a year and a half now - as an avid reader of the walking dead, i have to say that the tv show is amazing and lives up to the original comics. My only complaint - all the over emotionality... i don't really love to watch people cry, again and again.

As far as everybody being present for the smearing of the guts, more hands spreading guts = less time spreading guts = more time to carry out the escape plan. Or it could have just been shown for the fun of it. I wonder if this scene was in the comic. |

I was also surprised they didn't have him do anything with the tank he sure got out of it in a hurry and it was obviously the safest place he could have been. Guess we have to assume it was out of gas and had no ammo.

I too was hoping for some tank action. I guess he just figured if he didn't get out while he had that guy helpin him on the radio, he wouldn't get out period.

about the tank...the first thing i would have tried to do, after killing the zombie in there with me, is start that baby up, even if it only got down the street a little ways, it had a .50 cal on top, and you know the batteries were still working if the radio still worked, and like all radios are on the same channel? like my wife says, "you're watching a show about zombies, you have to suspend disbelief and reality here!" and on the subject of his friend doinking his wife, i'd be pissed at the wifey, christ, did anyone try to go to he hospital, it's not like he was dead...?

I thought the organ bit was brilliant - and that scene was so much more gross than in the black and white comics! I find glenn to be hilarious too. I can't wait for rick to meet up with laurie and his ex-partner...

but yea the second episode was sweet, i love how they couldnt cut up the zombie body till they were like "oh hey guys, he his an organ donor...its ok" haha, and his so called best friend is a douche for sleeping with his wife, as eldo said, did no one look in the hospital?? |

Three things I wish were different about the show:
-zombies shouldn't be smart enough to smash big rocks against windows
-sucks that they know how to climb fences too, i like classic style zombies
-sucks he didn't start up the tank and go for a spin! nothing beats squishing zombies with a 70 ton tank
