Love those chip shot pk's! Such a dirty move cuz it takes so much control to tap it while running in at full speed.
And love the fact that Ronaldo didn't get the chance to kick. haha love it!! That dbag is out!!!! And Go Germany! |

That is a bold move considering it is win or go home. They made it but it was a boring game. |

^It is but considering it's the defending euro and world cup champs vs a one man portugal team they probably had the utmost confidence in the rest of the team to not have their 3 forwards dressed and get into the finals. They'll need their big guns against Germany for sure on sunday. But I still think Germany takes the cup. Should be a good game.

Wow, Balotelli with two sick goals! Can't believe what i'm watching. Germany choking again when it matters most.

Unbelievable.. So pissed at Germany right now. They choked AGAIN!
Also how do you not add another minute of stoppage time after that pk? over a minute of stoppage time went off the clock while all of that was going on. Sometimes soccer can be completely illogical.

It was a good game, and it warmed my cold bitter heart to see the shocked and dejected German fans at the end.

Ha ha, so brutal... I love it.
Germany out in a semi again, seriously they have been one of the best teams in each tournament from WC02 on, but they just can't over the line. 3rd in 06 and 10, 2nd in 02. Runner up in Euro last year... They will be shattered.
At least it was a better semi than the 1st.

Oh It was just SOOO much fun getting around the city after the game ended. Unfortunately, I had to be somewhere at that time. Every Italian in Toronto must've jumped in their Iroc's with a flag and just clogged every street in the city honking their horns. And now it's a Spain/Italy finals? So there will be one winner come sunday but in the end we all lose!

Italy played so well and earned that win. That is what is so fun about win or go home anything can happen.

So, predictions peeps???
I'm hoping Spain win, but really just hoping it isn't a snooze fest. They have been the best team for the last few years no doubt, but I'm actually starting to get a little bored of the predicability of their game. I'll go with 3-1 to Spain (wishful thinking). Seriously wouldn't be surprised to see 0-0, then shootout though...

one guy lit up, finally, so that's not something you can completely count on that...should still make for an exciting match! (however, i'd put it on italy anyway, lol)

Seriously thinking the final won't be anywhere near as good as it could have been. Spain played boring as against Portugal and I hate the way Italy plays.

I disagree. Although Spain isnt a very high scoring, hail mary type of team, when they do go on the attack, they go hard. Italy is a pretty fun team to watch too. I mean, have you seen Balotelli?!
I'm excited for this game. I'm showing up early to go to ESPN zone to watch it on the big screen there |

^Yeah I agree this finals should be a pretty exciting one to watch. May not be a high scoring game but exciting nonetheless. I'm predicting a 1-0 Italy victory. They've been playing really great over their last couple of games. I wasn't too impressed with the way Spain played Portugal even tho they sat out their big guns. But I'll be rooting for Spain just to shut up some of the guys at work.

I realize Germany lost to Italy but I feel like they would have given Spain a much better run for their money

Outstanding game! It can't be denied, Spain are on another level than anyone else in the world at the moment.
All 4 goals were great. Particulary the 2nd by Alba. The speed of his run from the back, the through ball and the finish. Perfection.
Well deserved it must be said. Italy were completely outclassed, looks like they used all their luck in the semi.

I have to say the first half was exciting, as much as I enjoy seeing Italy lose (cheating players taking a dive every 3 seconds) would have preferred to see Germany give them a bit more of a run for their money..

Two of those goals came when Italy had 10 players on the field, and Italy won possession in the first half. Not the blowout it appeared to be, but Spain definitely was the better team.

well even if it wasnt for last 2 goals which came like the last 10min hence it wouldnt have affected the game much at all. it started good but after the 1st half, its like their life was drained out and lost all will

The game was over after the 2nd goal..Italy didn't lose because of the man-disadvantage.

Congrats to Spain on another Euro Cup title! Putting Torres on for 3mins was really unecessary for them being up 2-0 but I guess they were making a statement with his goal. They are the best in the world right now.
And a great run by Italy in this tourney, absolutely no shame in what they've accomplished especially knocking out the germans. |

If you watched the game you know Italy lost because they were out played, not because for the dying quarter of the game they were down one man.

Spain, as of right now, is still in another class from all other international teams. Italy is actually in a down period compared with their precedent and i was actually shocked to see them get so far

I didn't expect them to win against Germany, let alone a 2-0 victory. But they played a pretty damn good game.

Yeah, I didn't say that they did. I said that it wasn't the blowout that it appeared since Spain scored two late while Italy was down a man. 2-0 isn't much of a blowout, but 4-0 looks like an absolute shellacking.

I think the score was a fair representation actually. It was over at half time for 1 thing, and Spain definitely took the foot off the accelerator when Italy went a man down. They knew they had it. I still think it would have ended 3 or 4 zip even if Italy had 11 men. Can't wait to see what they bring to WC2014.

Spain won't win the 2014 World Cup. A European country has never won a World Cup hosted in North or South America. They just can't seem to figure it out.

^Anything is possible and there's always a first time for everything. Yes it'll be a much bigger tournament with more competitive teams than in Europe but I wouldn't disregard this Spanish team based on a mere statistic.
