I've been riding frequently this season and there wasn't an exact point in time where I first noticed the pain while riding. It probably just blended in with the usual soreness/aches after my first few days this season after riding. However about a month ago I noticed I was getting quite a bit of discomfort in the outside of my leg (few inches below the knee down to about the ankle) I really only noticed it when doing ollies or tail pressing.
It wasn't bad enough to stop riding all together I just kept it in mind and took it easy when doing those. It's been more than a week since I last rode and I haven't been putting any stress on it thanks to the common cold. Now the pain feels like it sunk further down to my very lower leg/ankle/top of my foot, I can feel a little bit of discomfort when I'm just moving around (not riding). I strapped in for a little backyard shred to see how it feels and its more of a stabbing pain and aches a lot more in my foot now than my leg. I wouldn't call it painful just extreme discomfort. Anyway it hasn't gone away for some time and was wondering if this sounds familiar to anyone, obviously TS isn't the doctors office but maybe someone knows what I'm explaining. Again I don't remember a time where I fell or anything and really felt a pain in that specific area. |

When i played football i would get something called shin splints sometimes. I would take a dixie cup and freeze some water in it. Then ice the sore areas with until it all melted. One per leg. It took about a week of doing this everyday for the inflammation to go down an the pain to go away. Sounds like a similar sort of injury. Im not a doc but maybe try that its cheap and easy and worked for me.

You may not have the apt binding angles? Anyways, chiropractor knows best. I've had some sores like this around my leg while playing various sports. He gave me a few stretches and others for the affected area. Chased the pain away in a week.

no point going to a chiroopractor,
go to a physio if anyhting
it could that you have strained the muscle when laoding up your board to ollie, to be honest with it being the whole muscle its probably strained. if its inflammed (swollen) i suggest just rubbing and massaging it to move the fluid around so the swelling goes down.
use the RICE tecnique
R - Rest (dont use it, thought this would be obvious)
I - Ice (apply ice/cold pakcs to the problem area)
C - Compress (get a compression brace/bandage from your local phramacist or something and wrap ti around, dont cut off the circulation but dont have it loose)
E - Elevate (keep the problem area elevated, which pretty much means for this case, Feet up and RELAX! play xbox watch videos read a book do homework, just have your leg up)
if the pai sint goign away i suggest seeing someone about it.

Probably you were standing on it too much while you were boarding. i know it sounds dumb, but that can happen when boarding. hope this helps :)

Not sure what caused it but the icing worked and haven't had the problem since.

Sounds like shin splints but not sure about the foot pains. But definitely need to give it some rest for proper healing and also stretching will help alleviate some of the pain. Too much of a good thing can be bad for ya. See a doctor for sure.

It might be that your stance is giving you pain, either its too wide or the angles are to much. I had terrible knee pains and someone recommended a stance machine. As much as i was like F that i thought i would give it a whirl and what the guy told me was interesting, basically your legs line up differently with your body and its about finding the right width and angle on your binding to allow you to bend without putting unnecessary force on your joints. i went from super wide 15+ 15- to little bit narrower and 18+ 12- and no pain. it felt weird at first but i got used to it and had a whole season with significantly less pain.

I would play around with your foot angle and width in your stance so that it feels more comfortable just standing on your board. Ive never experienced that before. You could also ride goofy for a while and see if you you get the same pain in the other leg.
