Maybe they're just changing things up. I bet they will be back sometime in the future.

Look at the history of the Force. The only "colors" they keep in the line every year are black and white, because they're staples and go with everything. If they kept the rest of the line the same 2 or 3 colors every year it'd get pretty boring, especially when trying to build some frankenbindings.

posted this in the franken binder thread as well I'm going to be ordering a pair of 2013 forces I only want the ankle straps off them. selling the rest brand new un-ridden for 90$ shipped. Any takers you can pick the color not a real big fan of purple though, it you want contacts instead that's fine too. anyways 90$ for bindings minus the ankle straps, I will prob keep those two ratchets as well pm me if interested.

How does the number of the flex of a binding and boot play a role in preformance.I heard a lot of people say you should have one soft one hard.
I have DLX's and 32 86ft Sexton, which both have a flex rating of 4. |

Generally the higher the number the stiffer. The stiffer something is generally means quicker response/more control. Having one "soft" and one "hard" would seem a little counter intuitive in my opinion, but that's just me. Basically, you get what you want for your personal riding style. Whatever works for you. |

Preference mostly, but softer usually makes a better park binding. Union uses less material towards the top of the highback so it makes it easier to grab and such. |

Depends on what you prefer in order to establish whether or not it benefits you.
Some people like "softer" boots/bindings to ride park and rails because they want a less responsive ride. If all you do is send it every run and carve like hard-booter Bob, you might want something stiff to maximize edge control. |

Oh okay, that makes sense. Thank you guys! What is the stiffest and the softest number?

1-10 1 being soft 10 being stiff unless they are using some weird scale.

Okay, thanks dpboarder98. Is their a reason why park/rail riders like a less responsive feel?
Also, is their a suggested forward lean setting for beginner riders? I'm leaning to riding more park/rails and i'm not sure what to set the forward lean to. Thank you. |

softer/less responsive boots/bindings allow more freedom of movement and may not kick your ass for mistakes. you are able to manipulate the relation between your legs/feet and board more than you can with stiffer gear. it really is all preference though. i personally like same boot/binding for every type of riding, and i change the board per conditions, but other people are different.
forward lean is all preference. most people don't use it because they think it's uncomfortable (which it isn't when you take a minute to get used to it) or they don't even understand what it is or what it does. i think it's less necessary for the type of riding you want to do, but again, it's all preference. i'd suggest riding with none, then add one notch, see how it feels, and adjust up or down from there.

somehow lost the "thumb screw" on my ankle strap the other day. got off the lift, went to strap in, and the strap just flew out of my hand.
i can't believe that happened!
i robbed a little screw out of some old bindings for this weekend.

Same thing happened to me with my forces, went to a local shop that carries Union and they had some spare ones they hooked me up with. If they don't have any c3-shop now carries them for like $5. Keep checking them though, mine still work themselves loose. http://c3-shop.com/products/union/parts/thumbscrew-set

Sheit Jdiggidy that sucks..
are these your pair of unions where you lost the screw? If you're thinking of just giving those orange contacts for free... I'll gladly take it off your hands.. I'm in need of a new pair to match my S. RC

@jhoang6 on the last page you said you really wanted some yellow forces but they sold out quick. If you still want some here are some for pretty cheap http://www.ebay.com/itm/Union-Force-Snowboard-Binding-Mens-L-XL-/251199928799?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a7caeb9df
