Hey, I'm currently riding some Burton missions which I really like, but I like the style of the Union Forces. Just wondering if anyone has ridden the Missions and the forces and can compare the too for stiffness, comfort etc?

I went from 2011 burton cartels to 2012 union forces. Forces are way better, to cut to the point. I have a pair of 2009 burton missions on a old 07 deck right now. You will be impressed with the Forces, easy on your feet, yet have a good secure feeling. I use them in the park and on powder days. Best all around bindings in my 13 years of riding! |

Forces work...so do Contact Pros. Cartels work good too...Malavitas, Triads...etc. Which Missions do you have? That would make a difference. I'm lazy to look it up, but the newer Missions are like an older Cartel. More comfortable gel like strap vs just some foam/rubber padding.
Comfort is personal as well as how it fits your boot. If you have shitty uncomfortable boots, the most luxuriously comfortable binding will not fix uncomfortable boots. |

I have some Union Danny Kass for $115 shipped. Or if you really want Forces. I have Red L/XL ones that I could part ways with for $110 shipped. Straps show some wear. |

c3 seems to put theirs up with the current year. their 2012 demos/samples just went up this week and that seems to be normal for them. i doubt you'll be able to buy any of the 2013s til this time next year, or maybe in the fall. they don't release them to the public for a reason...

I'm liking those hot pink, or neon pink Forces that they have! lol reminds me of the cyan they had in the 2011 line. but it looked better online than it did in person.

yea, the blue came out to being a really solid looking blue-- not all bright and colorful like the pictures online. The blue flites this year are pretty good looking though for some reason even though i THINK they have the same blue. |

going to have to see it in person, but i'm pretty sure its more of that solid looking colour cyan/blue
to be honest looking at the snowboarder.eu video for the 12/13 line,...I'm not feeling a lot of the colours in their whole line other than that hot pink they have, lol the last few years were better.. it would be nice to see the force in the CMKY colours.

that doesn't exist. what does exist is you and your preference, and there will be a binding out there that fits that.
what do you like in a binding in terms of flex/response? edge to edge, side to side, etc.. and what have you had in the past that you liked or didn't like?

the pro is less loose. the padding around the base is stiffer in general so it doesn't "roll" quite as much. still a looser binding side to side but not as much as the contact. edge to edge they feel like your standard mid flex binding to me. the base is also carbon injected instead of fiberglass, so it's a hair stiffer and lighter. the new ankle strap is way better as well. i think they're also the 2nd lightest binding in the line?

I think I might enjoy a slightly stiffer binding and less weight can never hurt. Is the highback a lot taller? it looks strangely big.

it's normal. between the two i don't know which is taller. probably the pro but we'd be talking about a pretty small amount.
it's not really that the binding is stiffer so much as it's a bit more responsive, but... same idea

Alright, maybe it just looks taller because of the minimal amount of roundness to the highback. Looks like I will be waiting longer now though if I want to get a pair as the place with the good deal sold out :(
