We had an uneventful Valentine's Day and the hubby says, "You know, we should get the Go Pro camera so you're in the shots too." Great idea, but I hadn't found any deals to buy one. At least, up until last night. Buydig.com has the Go Pro Hero 960 advertised for $189. Then comes the 25% coupon code I found. No tax, free shipping (coming from New Jersey). Out the door $141.75.
Sold for 2! Happy Valentine's Day! In case you want to check it out, http://www.buydig.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=GPCHD96001 Below is a screenshot of the code working (GOPRO25). ![]() |

Wow thanks. I was ready to immediately pull the trigger...too bad buydig won't ship up to Canada. Bummer. Bump for the best deal I've seen so far.

i would look into buying the full 1080hp one. not trying to hate or anything (that's an awesome price by the way) but 1080hd quality is much better. I've been selling GoPros in my store for two years now, and the 1080hd GoPro allows for updates while 960 does not have has many. Great cameras tho, highly suggest them.

eh no 60 FPS with that model or else i would be all over it.
the 30 FPS vs 60 FPS is HUGE difference in quality imo. not just regular shots, but with 30 FPS its almost impossible to get a clear slow mo shot. 30fps http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1pNXbAU1-8 60fps http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaYVs1HPn2w |

hoenstly i could care less about the 960p vs 1080p cause i would be recording in 720 anyways, but the frame rate is the biggest difference.

exactly. when it comes down to it, 720+ is going to be really clear quality IMO

I could be wrong, but I think the frame rate while recording in 720 is 60 fps. Does anyone know for sure?

"""The world's highest performance wearable 1080p HD video and still photo camera. 1080p / 960p / 720p HD resolutions record at 30 and 60 frames per second (60 fps in 720p). 5 megapixel photos."" I suggest you confirm it on Gopros website.
And for most us I think 720p @ 60 fps is more than enough.
Thanks OP I think I have to pull the trigger.
the water proof casing , 60 fps and all for 141 is pretty solid deal.
and of course FatCash.

thats for the HD top shelf model homie. the one thats 141$ is only 960p for the max quality and it only has a shutter speed of 30 FPS. you have to upgrade to the HD to get 60 FPS. the 960 go pro specs are here..

what SD cards are ppl using?
I'm guessing that the Kingston SDHC class4 32gb is the one? since it is on the Go Pro website. Can we use other company cards too? I hear that there are alot of problems with other cards. Thanks |

Yeah you can use other company SD cards. I use a PNY 8gb Class 10 SD card and it works great for HD video. I wouldn't go less than an 8gb though because after a weekend of filming, I'm pretty much out of space so I have to immedietly put them on my computer. No problems here. |

yeah the Gopros are completely waterproof down to like 180 feet. Also the gopro above isn't HD...so if you are looking for the HD heros DO NOT BUY it! Other than that GoPro makes the sickests cameras...I got one for christmas and its easy to see why there is such a demand for them...very high quality shots and very durable!

^^Oh i forgot to mention I bought a 16 gig sd card and it will hold like 2 hours of 720p footage...so it will hold more than that of standard def filming!

GoPro is definitely more versatile, and the goggle cam isn't out on the market until March (I think). If you don't need goggles, I would go with the GoPro... if you absolutely need some new goggles, knock out two birds with one stone!

Yep, will be doing this some time in the future. Hopefully, I can find a deal again. I really wanted the 1080, but getting 2 cameras at this point was more important. I'll always have a back up!

What is the 960? I picked up the GoPro HD Auto for like $180 on a pre-order group buy. Forget paying $300 for it!

I thought about the 960, but got the normal one with Auto for about $230 a few months ago. I almost always run it on 720p@60fps, and it looks great in the snow. It's nice being able to slow it down a little bit and have it still look good.

Another note: if you plan on getting the recently released LCD Bacpac, it's not compatible with the 960.
