Lift the safety bars...
Point and line up your board 90degrees to the chair, back leg (right, since I ride normal) on stomp pads/inside of the back binding... front butt cheek (left) should be barely on the chair, front arm(left) is just under your left butt cheek on the flat of the chair, back arm(right) on the back of the chairlift for balance. Once you make contact with the ground... Option 1) Push off the chairlift with both arms and go straight, turn left or right as needed (back foot sticking out left/right off the board helps with this depending on which way you want to go) Option 2) Push off a bit so that both butt cheeks are no longer on the chair, you are flat on the ground, front arm in front for balance, back arm on the bottom of the chair lift and let the chair lift push you through down the small slope. Go straight/left/right as needed. Both are viable, it's whatever you're comfortable with, also sometimes you want to go with option 1) if it's a full lift, if not... I myself prefer option 2) since you won't get clocked by the chair lift should you fall or didn't push hard enough. |

when you are learning, I find it's best to be on the sides to keep from falling onto people. plus, if you can push off and turn away quickly, you're less likely to have trouble.
