This is really great stuff. I bought SA almost a year ago, and I am still super super impressed. They break everything down into excellent progressions, and have helped improve my riding a ton. Take advantage of the deal, very rad.
Edit: The subscription was a huge bonus

I agree with the 2 posters above, I have both the learn to ride vids as well as the Freestyle vids and they are of excellent quality. I would highly recommend them, especially to the guys who are just getting into the jibbing and freestyle stuff.
I just downloaded their new halfpipe vid and there are a lot of good tips in that one as well.

I have had this for a little over a year, It has really helped my riding. I probably don't use it as much as I could, i.e. not enough visualization etc. But it has still improved my skill and my knowledge of snowboarding

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys, the Team and I really appreciate it!
Definitely be sure to take advantage of our subscription program. It's free for the first 6 months, then after that, it's only $27 a year. We promise to put out at least 3 programs annually so you end up only paying $9 (at the most) per program compared to $25. |

Could you guys maybe put out a quick vid on riding techniques for different terrain types you might encounter on the hill? You've already got the powder riding vid, but what about when you hit moguls or even the steeps? Just a thought, keep up the good work

Any "beginners" ever use this program? I'm on my first season boarding (used to be a skier) and have gone 9 or 10 times this season. Just wondering if it's worth picking these up or if I should work on other things first. Thanks...

I prefer using the alternate method of teaching people and not the SA way. I have the Learn to Ride vids but the methods are so very different than what I have seen everyone else using. You do alot of moving around with balance and "joysticks" and things like that. Interesting, but I think I'll stick with the normal way of teaching new people as it's easier to remember (sideslipping, traversing, garlands, linked turns). Personally, I wouldn't buy the L2R vids again although the Freestyle videos are really really good. I'm not saying they are bad, just very different.

I bought these vids about 2 months ago, and my riding has progressed so much I can't even tell you. I love this whole program, and highly recommend it to others.
Since I already bought it 2 months ago, is there any way to get a retro-active coupon? Or maybe a free year's subscription?

ive seena few of thier videos. theyre pretty good but really redundant in my opinion.i wont pay for them when i can watch videos on youtube. the sierra 1s are good. they give pretty much the same info they just arent 30 minutes of redundancy plus they are freeeeee

I find "redundancy" helps with visualization. Sierra ones are good, but the SA set is definitely worth the cash. |

I don't agree with you at all, the Sierra videos are good for Youtube videos, but the SA videos are much higher quality, and much longer.

Plus you can put the vids on your ipod. The sierra vids are good, but they're short IMO. The addiction vids go into more detail and really break it down which was really helpful for trying to start spins. Plus all the extras that came with it were worth it. I usually study the vids when I'm going to try something new on the slopes. |

u wont be disappointed. itll help u as an entry level rider all the way through your progression in freestyle. i used the same techniques and successfully taught two newbies this season how to link their turns.
and thats not to mention my progression as a park rider this season has been beyond my expectations.
i started this season 50-50 boxes, hardly doing presses. and i was completely scared of jumps, just straight airs.
now: i can confidently nose/tail press, bs boardslide, working on the fs boardslide (dammit so hard!), riding rails and practicing on down features.
jump wise; ive gained huge confidence and am throwing 180s, 360s (in progress), shifties, and grabs.

With your subscription, do you also have access to old videos or do you only have access to the 3 new videos that comes out during your subscription?

You only have access to the ones that are out right now. I believe they are backcountry, powder riding and halfpipe currently. I believe they expire after a while and the newer members won't get access to the current ones

There is one thing you guys should be aware of that kinda sucks about Snowboard Addiction. They sign you up automatically to their subscription service and give you a free 6 months. After that they will start to bill you automatically unless you cancel, so be aware.

Sorry for being MIA for a few days guys. I'm nursing some broken ribs over here. Thanks for the help Doug!
Bboy Tommy: glad to hear about your progression, sick stuff. As for the subscription, yes you have to sign up for it while purchasing. The first 6 months are free and then we bill you $27 a year after that. You'll have access to at least 2-3 videos at a time and we promise to release at least 3-4 videos per year. Since each video costs $25-30, it's a bargain to get all of them for just $27. Let me know if you guys have any other questions. |

Just bought this yesterday and downloaded a couple of them. So far, of the one I watched, I must say it's pretty good. They go through step-by-step what to do, and explain everything. They start off with what basics you should master and then move up further... all in all if the rest of the DVD's are like the first one, it seems like a great buy.
Only warning, if you go the download route... they only give you 48 hours to download... make sure you have a good enough connection to get everything! Especially if you buy the package... it's a couple GB to download. |

Wait...does the full freestyle box set not come with the first "Learn 2 Ride" disc?
It said 7 discs, and I counted 7 lessons, but I guess one of them is actually a data disc? |
