Could not find this on the site search but here is how to fix a shallow scratch on your goggles,
disclaimer: this could screw up antifog as toothpaste is used to prevent fogging in dive masks sorry about how large the image is but you can clearly see the scratch. ![]() After a quick google search, yes i actually did 5 seconds of research prior to posting I found no results, I remembered reading somewhere about using toothpaste to clean an ipod screen. So i tried it, and now the scratch is almost gone, just took a good amount and smeared it on the goggles and rubbed it in, so easy. So i dont know if any one else has had this problem but this repair seemed to work for me... heres the webcam pic of them now!! ![]() I know you cant really tell but the scratch is almost non-existant now, I hope this isnt a re-post but I did not find it after five minutes of searching. Edit: make sure you use a nonabrasive paste, not gel toothpaste

I would imagine most of the anti fog layering would be on the inside of the google. If you are repairing the outside, you shouldn't mess it up.

I am so going to try this on my goggles. But I am wondering do you have to reapply the toothpaste every time it gets wet or does this kinda work as a one time thing?

haha, its on the outside of the lens anyways, so its not going to mess up too much anti fog stuff. |

To the op, thanks for posting this info. I bought a lens off of ebay and it has a small scratch in it. Gonna try the ol toothpaste method.

ya, post it if it works for u, that was kinda the point of this I had never heard of this b4 and was not sure if it would work... Also please wet your goggles before smearing the toothpaste on it, I thought it was common sense but in hindsight not really, without a wet surface you could be prone to scratch it more and be sure to let your goggles dry after doing this, basic goggle care to prevent fogging... Edit: I would wait until it has been tested by more people on the site to try it if it is your only lens. If this is your spare lens please try it, again mine was a very shallow but visible scratch that took about 1-2 minutes of rubbing the wet lens with "Crest Fluoride Anti-cavity Toothpaste" Do not use a gel or any other sort of toothpaste with any kind of beads which could scratch the lens heres a quick goggle search on the specs of my lenses (a year or two old anon jeremy jones) < ="utf-8">

That is a pretty interesting DIY method. I agree, I don't see how it would affect the anti fog since you're doing it on the outside.

It's a miracle that if fixed that scratch to me. The scratched looked like it took off part of the tint to the lens. Looks almost like it was never scratched i only see a tiny scratch left.
