Organizing some people to take a trip to Bariloche, Argentina.
Epic Snow Company has all the information, Im just one of the riders for the camp. (Austin) If your interested or have any questions, you can either respond here or PM Me and we can talk further. Checkout the pictures and vids from last year on the site! You wont be disappointed with this trip, its insanely fun. Oh and best time to go is usually August!< id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall;" id="jsProxy" =""> |

It depends on the plane ticket usually, but for 2 weeks its normally around $2500 tops. That includes everything, shuttles, lodging, breakfast, lift, private boardpark, guide, video analysis, Signal & Union 2011-2012 board & binding demos, daily transportation...etc.
BUT thats just a rough estimate, it could be cheaper when the time gets closer. You pay a partial payment, and the rest when you get there. < id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall;" id="jsProxy" =""> |

so I the only thing on top of that $2500 is travel cost to Bariloche? On the site, it says they pick up from BA airport. By bus, I believe BA to Bariloche is something like 10 hours...

no no, that is a cheaper option though, realistically the cost for the camp is more around $2000, with flight it is more like around $3000 give or take. All the way to Bariloche, not BA. The camp will cover the bus from international to national airport. Which is about 45 min apart. The cheapest way to book your flight is through flow viajes (from what ive found) there is a link on the site, they work with the camp...and can try to make the overall cost as affordable as possible. < id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall;" id="jsProxy" ="">

flight for me to BA is around $1000 to $1300. Another $300-400 on LAN to get to Bariloche (I think). That's kinda pricey if I add another $2000 for the camp. How much is one week?

That's pretty tight they hook you up with oh-12 boards and bindings-so do you not need to bring your own board at all? Cuz that would cut down on transportation costs, depending on the airline and oversize luggage etc. |

Yes, saving $20 in baggage fees is going to make or break a $4000 trip. |

More like 50-100 bucks each way. And if I'm spending 3 or 4 grand, I'm going to need to save every extra hunid bucks I can. Plus getting to ride next year's boards for free on top of not having to pay to check your own is valuable in its own way. |

yea, you dont need to bring a board, they can set you up, and going through me, you normally get a cheaper rate then everyone else for the camp...They can work with you on affordability, with flight and camp all included. And yea, flight for me is about the same. It wont end up being 4000, it will be less...unless of course you have shopping problems lol< id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall;" id="jsProxy" ="">

one week I would guess is atleast a few hundred cheaper...I really only have most details on 2 weeks, plus its pretty early planning right now. Almost everyone books 2 week sessions, or will come for a week an end up staying another lol. Its something about the area man...you just dont want to leave, or stay as long as possible.< id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall;" id="jsProxy" ="">

you should check your airline because I'm like 99.99999% sure that any international flight (other than Canada, PR, USVI, etc.) includes a checked bag for FREE....

I don't have that much vacation. Plus, I read on the site, it is teenagers? And the dorms are separate for male and female? Are there old dudes that go there? lol. |

nooo all your flights. From where you live to atlanta, atlanta to Buenos Aires, Then to Bariloche. Atlanta is normally where you will fly out of I believe...< id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall;" id="jsProxy" ="">

It is possible to fly to Buenos Aires from many U.S. cities. Miami, N.Y., L.A. Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, Atlanta, are the most important. American Airlines, LAN, United, Aerolineas Argentinas, are the most recommended airlines. If you travel on LAN, you can send free 2 bags of 23 kg. or 1 snowboard bag and a bag measuring no more than 2 meters (height x width x length) would be a cover of 1.60 m.. Now I prefer LAN. To move in Argentina, you can rent a car and you can go to Bariloche by bus (ViaBariloche http://www.viabariloche.com.ar/home/) It takes about 18 hours so at night.

yea, LAN is a great airline. That is who I go through. and yea I know you can go there through more than one US city, but I believe atlanta has the most outgoing flights to BA if you miss a flight like I did last year...I was able to get on a flight the next day. as to some cities where there is only as little as 1 outgoing a week...Though, schedules are always different....< id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall;" id="jsProxy" ="">

Miami, N.Y., L.A. Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, Atlanta have direct flights to Buenos Aires. I travel every year and always went to USA for some of those cities. Mainly MIAMI

so it's about $1000 a week minus the flights? Are there set dates for the flights or I can select whatever I want? For example, I might want to spend a couple days at BA before going home.

thats extra, its one day...(prices are different every year) A snowmobile brings you up some fresh untouched mountain nearby (like in some of the pictures). If that is something you would be interested in while your there, I would recommend to bring extra money! because you obviously dont want to do it unless conditions are good for it...and only way to know for sure is to wakeup to the weather in person.< id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall;" id="jsProxy" ="">

well, I guess it is normally a 4 day trip for that. which is $1000 but prices vary as if you are taking a week of resort snowboarding with the camp also. It also gets cheaper when there are more people...because your basically renting a snowcat, and end up splitting the prices between who is there....so its pretty expensive for a single person.< id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall;" id="jsProxy" ="">

I'd probably just do it for a day or 2 at most. Still not sure if I want to hit Baraloche or Ushuaia though. Do you know of any tours or companies like this one that goes to Ushuaia?

for sure man, but honestly idk about Ushuaia companies.
but as for the backcountry trip, just bring extra money and if you can get other people to agree to go, which isnt hard then you could only go for a day or 2. If not, then the riding at cerro is usually insane anyways lol < id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall;" id="jsProxy" =""> |

yea, the volcano is tearing ALOT of argentina apart, but im sure the ash will clear up and the snow will cover anything. There was talk of shutting down alot of the resorts but I dont think it will happen...hopefully the snow just takes care of everything.

Hi, Xhaustin. How you spent last year in Bariloche?
I was at end of July and end of August and beginning of September, and it was very good. A bit of ash from the volcano, but the middle and upper part of the mountain was very good |
