I just had a bowl of diniguan with rice (also known as pork blood stew). Some people seem to be grossed out by this but it's awesome!

Mmmm. Epoxy lol. Our local quiznos was doing a "Customer appreciation" thing yesterday. So long as ya bought a drink, small subs were $0.99 and regular subs were $1.99. I expected the list to be limited to whatever their cheapest subs were, but it applied to the entire menu. Bacon probably wasn't the best post-workout choice, buttttt its delicious, dammit lol Gonna make a trip to the store n pick up ingreds for some beer-cheese soup when i get paid tomorrow. :). Really not all THAT expensive to make, but the trips to Portland for surgery wiped my bank account clean. |

Blood in food is pretty tasty, I have to say. As long as I don't think of it as blood I can eat it. Korean blood sausage is hella good, too. It comes with a salt/red pepper dip. Damn, I'm getting a craving.

Anyone have any tips on cooking Chinese food? When I try to make it, it always tastes way to Americanized. I'm not sure what I'm missing.

Did not know gravy is composed of blood and blood sausages is pretty darn good. Although, the diniguan with rice picture doesnt look tasty. if it taste and smell as good as you say I think I can overcome the blood part. |

Made beef stir fry.. Very easy to make and it turned out pretty well.
Of course I had to melt some cheese over it and add hotsauce. Not the typical Asian way to eat it. lol

That's automatic when at the grocery. Milk, eggs, juice, bread, and either bacon and/or sausage. I never leave the grocery without them. |

Not sure what you're asking here, Wood. The grocery stores will have seasoning packets that allow you to make a variety of things by just adding water & meat. You could get a pork loin and fill the rest with BBQ sauce. Simple, but pulled pork sammies are delish! |

Preparation:Brown and drain ground round in skillet.
Combine all ingredients in slow cooker and mix thoroughly. Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours. Rick's Note: Goes well with grated Sharp Cheddar Cheese sprinkled on top. |

Forgot to post about this a few minutes ago.. Aly and I went to the Thai joint in town Saturday after she got off work. We saw a "Now open!" sign hanging from the building and thought "wow, they really need to take that down". Upon further reading, we noticed the place has changed names and is now under different ownership. The menu/staff is completely different, which is cool, cuz it offers a few new options i'd like to try, but I'll admit i was a TAD bummed that they didn't have the mango-fried rice that i was really looking forward to ordering! Ended up getting a seafood medley kind of dish that offered a variety of spiciness options (the previous limitations were from 1-5 with 5 being "thai spicy", but despite always ordering 5, i got "white person spicy"). The new place goes from 1-10, where 5 is still rated as "Thai spicy." Being as it was a new menu, and spiciness can vary greatly by interpretation, i went for a 4 (why not give myself some room to grow? lol).. And it carried a solid amount of heat! I'll get the 5 next time, but the 4 was still considerably spicier than the 5 was before... WIN! |

Mmmm, constipation! I was looking forward to having some chicken-chili nachos for dinner last night (pretty much just throwing some chicken chili, olives and cheese on some tortilla chips and bakin em for a bit), but one of my surgery drain tubes came out last night, and the other is hanging on only by a single stitch. Because of the soft tissue in the area and the likelihood that i could damage the tissue, I fear I'm relegated to a mostly soft-food diet til i get it fixed :( |
