w0rd I'm really considering a lifted toyota truck as my next "whip" but I tried to stick with a subaru for MPG reasons I want to get closer to 30mpg rather than closer to 20mpg. especially with the amount of driving I do for work and personal life.
I totally dig the signature banana monster!

The 2012 Impreza gets like 26mpg city and 37mpg highway. Pretty damn good for anything let alone full time AWD. |

for snow purposes 5mts are WAY better than 4eats! awd 5mt will spin all wheels on slick ice, a 4eat with stock diff will only spin 2, worse yet if your transfer clutch goes out on a 4eat you basically have a unicycle with 3 tires for added drag

It depends on the year/model car. Some cars have limited slips in the rear diff. Some have different settings for the tq split for the center diff, etc. My wife's 2003 auto Forester will spin all 4 tires on snow/slick roads. |

LOL. I've also heard that Forester's are a top choice among lesbians.
Funny because a buddy of mine, he just picked up a '11 forester. hahaha |

Foresters are awesome cars. Bulletproof. Lesbians tend to be smart thats why they buy a vehicle that will last. I got a 2012 impreza sport and I love it. AWD and getting an average of 32 mpg with mostly city driving so far.

Hopefully they will release a direct injected 2L motor for the 2013 WRX. I'd like 25/30mpg from the turbo.

still loving my 01 outback despite the typical subaru issues. going to install a legit hitch within the next couple days.. then need to redo my rear brakes, and she's skiff-ready.
i think i recently broke through 170k. bought the car at 141k, almost all long distance highway miles down south by the previous owner. still running strong, especially after i replaced my o2 and knock sensors

![]() Heres a picture of mine, just got it a couple months ago. Kinda funny story behind this pic. When I got the car I was trying to keep it a secret from my family, but I was to excited to see what they thought. So I parked it in a used car lot and said I was looking at this car and wondered what they all thought. 2005 subaru outback xt limited 2.5 liter engine 250 horsepower turbo!

Look at the hood and the roof. They put protective coverings all over the car while it is in transit. |

lol I was gonna say WTF a white hood? lol I hate glare my GF's white lego L is dreadful at that right angle and time of day. ironically getting a hood scoop for "down force" might fix that but I'll keep my extra mile to the gallon.

Well, I'm renting an Outback next weekend for a 700 mile road trip to go to a football game. I'm pretty sure that's the car for me, but I'm not quite 100% yet.
Do any of you have the 2.5 (2012-2013ish models) in a mountainous region? My little cousin's 2007ish Forrester with the 4-cyl really lugs down around here. I drive accross the state of Montana no fewer than 10 times a year (Billings to Missoula and back), and have 2 major mountain passes and 4 minor ones between here and there. We also drive about 80-82 on the interstate, and I want to make sure there's enough sqirrels running for me.
Becasue of this, I'm thinking I want the H6 engine, but the gas milage and the purchase price are pretty heafty compared to the smaller one.
Any help would be greatly appriciated!

You're gonna have to narrow that down. What model/year/rim are you interested in? You'll take a hit with a Subaru due to the AWD except on the newest cars like the class-leading Impreza. I'd love a new Impreza, but it's just a bit too small for our travel car. |

I filled up 13.8 gallons today and had 361 miles on the clock. I had driven nearly 15 miles after the light came on and I know I can go about 20 miles before I run out of gas. That's incredible for a modded WRX. Almost 26mpg in mixed driving.

Why? It's not a diesel, so no worry about air in the lines and having to purge it out. Also, 21mpg isn't right. Your car is rated 27mpg or so. Why is it so low? And how the hell are you getting premium for $2.30 a gallon? Even e85 should cost a lot more than that. |
