There is nothing better than Jack in the Box tacos after the bar. I normally regret it the next morning but it's worth it. Just cover those greasy things in buttermilk!

TACO TUESDAY happened at our house yesterday.
Well, let me rephrase. My son had a taco followed by nachos (shell broken up to create chips). My daughter had a burrito (I'm not claiming soft tacos are tacos). My husband and I had tacos sans shells.
Here's the more important question... Hard or Soft Taco.

Street tacos ftw. Just meat, pico, corn tortilla, a little cilantro, squeeze of lime. And I'm going to rank them in this order: carnitas, steak, chicken, fish taco (with cabbage and whatever that white sauce might be).
The crunchy ones at Jack In The Box - not so much.

I wouldn't really consider the Jack in the Box tacos crunchy. They are more like a grease sponge material. The tops are crunchy though.

Granted, the grease makes them less crunchy, but they are a hard-shell as opposed to a soft-shell taco, right? I've got nothing against the hard-shell, I'm just expressing a preference for street-style.

Ive wanted to love tacos. They should be an easy win on the taste buds. Theyre spicy, theyre full of inoffensive flavours, theyre fun, theyre snacky and theyre way unhealthy for you. But honestly, never once have i eaten a taco i thought "that was AWESOME!!!!!". Being a brit, we have curry, so mexican food seems kinda lame in comparison. :)

False, there are currently  I love tacos. Soft are better, but I still get down on a hard taco. Quesadillas are pretty okay by me too. Honestly, I don't know which one I like better. Must go look at taco porn now. |

Oh I love tacos.
Crispy or softy, I'll eat it. Chicken Express in Vallejo got 69 cents chicken tacos all day everyday. O Yea. The best tacos I ever had was in Redwood City. I wish I remember how to get there and the name of the place.

I think where you live weighs in heavily on this issue. Here in CA, we're fortunate to enjoy some excellent Mexican food. Fish tacos down in San Diego are phoenomenal, and I don't even like fish. Taco Bell is all good at 2 AM on the way back from a bar, but if I'm getting lunch I'm hitting up a quality taqueria.
In England the Mexican food is shite. Same is true when I've had it in Nebraska. If I lived there I'd probably prefer Taco Bell and Chipotle too. Those late nite taco trucks with the fluorescent orange fat that stains your hands are awesome, but a price must be paid for visiting them.

Tacos are great and taco Tuesdays are awesome at del taco, 3 for a dollar.
Chicken soft Taco Thursdays at Del too 3 for 2 bucks. Aside from fast food I love the food trucks on the go too. Kogi's Korean BBQ tacos are freaking delicious. |
