i'm a new rider and live in Europe. The snow is about to start coming and i can't wait. I'm not going to buy a board yet until I rent some and figure out which one and which size I would like best. I'm 5ft5in are there any suggestions. i weight 155. i'm also about to buy grenade army corps jacket and pants, because there in my price range. does anyone have any suggestions on anything related to beginner snowboarding. THANKS!!!

Ooh. Some members are going to get mad at you for posting this kind of thread because this kind of question has already been answered before. Check out Ippy's guide: http://www.trusnow.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=40125

Also, you can go on Google and type in whatever it is that you need help with/have questions about and type in TruSnow without the quotes, of course.

I have the grenade army corps pants and they are legit and definitely a solid buy. they do run a bit big FYI im 5'9 185 and have a large and there even a little big... honestly when it comes to boards. my theory is renting is a waste of money, just talk to a few people on here about what a good cheap buy is. because look at it this way if u decide snowboarding isnt ur thing, just sell it and u will be out less than rental money or u if u like it u still have the board. as far as sizing if ur gonna get bigger just buy a couple sizes up but if ur not i think anything in the 150-155cm area would be good. check out DC ROME NITRO RIDE SEIRRA even BURTON have some quality boards for cheap because of old models.

l say anywhere from the 152-155 would be a good all arou length.  because its your first board, l recommend 2nd hand to see if you truely love the sport before investing

Boots are the most important part of your setup, because if your feet aren't happy, you probably won't be either.

You want your boot to fit like a glove, literally, very snug without any pressure points.
I'd suggest measuring both feet in cms before you get fitted so you have an idea.

fortunately for you, here's a in depth guide to boot fitting.

Long hair don't care!

Google your questions, there are tons of great answers. Best advice I can give is this : stick with it, once you get the hang of it you will be glad you did.
