So it appear as if its nearly official-greinke will be a dodger. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 6 years, 147 million. Thats alot of money for a guy who is nowhere near as good as klayton kershaw, their ace

The Rays just trade-raped the Royals so hard.
Shields (a #2 starter) Wade Davis (a #4 on his best day) for Wil Myers (#2 Prospect in baseball) Odorizzi (their top pitching prospect) Montgomery (another top pitching prospect) Leonard Oh my. Rays are gonna be great for another 5 years+ |

Dodgers are the new yankees. Their payroll is looking ridiculous... I'm getting kinda worried for my giants |

Its nice to see the Giants have a team they can compete with rather than seeing another cake walk into the playoffs. But the big news is... M's signed Jason Bay to a whopping one year deal. Look out AL West, Mariners mean business!

Judging by their spending I'm guessing they're moving sooner than later. Carolina or Las Vegas would be great spots. |

Idk, I have mixed feelings about Vegas getting a team. Not quite sure why exactly maybe players developing some kind of drinking or gambling problem. But then again, they would have no problem selling out games.

Either way, they need a move badly. St. Pete and Florida aren't giving them a new stadium anytime soon and getting to their current stadium is a nightmare. |

I would be disgusted if vegas got a pro sports team. There's not a big enough sedentary, built-in base with it essentially being a tourist city.

Heard Robbie Cano may be planning on giving up the pinstripes and testing the free agent market after 2013. Maybe he'll go to the Dodgers since they are the new yankees.

All i know is that the dodgers should be ashamed of that contract they gave to zack greinke. Since he's a good, not great pitcher now obtaining the 2nd largest contract ever given to a pitcher what do u think the great pitchers will now start demanding?

Angels reloading again. Hamilton 5 years/125 mill. Quite a risk being he's so injury prone and likely to relapse into drinking so close to LA. I personally thought he should've stayed in Texas but they weren't throwing that money at him.
Only time will tell, but in 5 years They'll be paying Albert and Josh a combined 51 million dollars for a year a couple 37 year olds. That's terrifying. |

Just what the angels need-another outfielder...i though our gm was brought in last year because he had a solid grasp on what the angels really need-pitching!!!!

i don't think that was a good move for the angels, overpaying for a player with huge risks. the rangers kept him in check for the most part and weren't willing to pay him that kind of money because they know things that nobody else knows. i expect him to relaps into his addictions in the OC/LA.

Don't like hearing how the Jays are considering trading away their top prospect, D'Arnaud, to get Dickey. Too risky when it comes to a 38 year old pitcher that just had a career year. Its different if he was in his early 30s, then the trade would seem reasonable. But to give up the future, from the Halladay deal, for a guy that might play another 2 years is ridiculous.

Well, looks like the deal is done for Dickey and was able to sign him to a 2 year deal with a club option for 2016. This puts gives the Jays a very strong rotation barring injuries. Still a bit skeptical but what's done is done. Hope they put together a solid season and come out on top of the AL East. Can't take this losing anymore.

Dickey seems like a cool cat. I watched his interview on John Stewart, and have since downloaded the "Knuckleball!" movie. I've yet to watch it, but it's on my to-do list. Really, really smart guy. Would much rather watch a post-game interview with him than almost any other player in the major leagues. |

Dickey is absolutely one of the best guys in sports. His story is fascinating beyond belief...There's an awesome article about him and Hersheiser when he was his pitching coach in Texas. The fact he just got paid, even as a fan of one of my rivals is just awesome. Wish nothing but the best for that guy. Total down to earth, wanted to stay in NY but understands the reasoning. Hope he kills the Red Sox and Yankees every outing. |

Morales traded to the M's for Vargas. Who didn't see this coming after the Hamilton signing? Let's hope Kendrys smartens up and doesn't do his famous homeplate jumps after a homerun! |

Justin Upton finally got traded. That braves outfield is sick, but they gave up a lot for him. Prado's a good player and Delgado is a top prospect. The Braves look like a contender if their pitching can stay healthy.

Yea it should be interesting to see if the Braves will be able to keep all of those guys together. If they can, look out. Their farm system is pretty depleted so they have to go for it these next couple of years.

Anyone see this new PED story? A-rod has been using since 2012 and guys like gio gonzalez and nelson cruz showed up on their records. If this is true yanks might be able to get out of a-rods contract.

I find it hard to believe that a-rod was only using PED from 2001-03 (during his Texas days) and 2012 rather than over his entire career.

Really curious to see how they handle ARod if these reports are true. This could be the one that broke the camels back and they make an example of him.
Also the 2009 Yankees WS is officially tainted due to his large role in it IMO. |

Crazy rumor regarding the Yankees and their plan to sign JV, Kershaw, Felix and/or Price in 2014. Kinda explains as to why they haven't done much this off-season. But highly doubt they can get all four guys. I can see them getting Felix and Price but the other two is a bit of a stretch.

B WIlson is a free agent, and out of all those top pitchers the only guy I can see going to the yanks is King Felix. The dodgers could go after all of these guys, especially with their new owners.

I would love for the Yankees to drop A-Rod. I am sick of cheaters having no consequences (short of exclusion from Hall of Fame, which hopefully keeps cheaters out).

Looks like Felix is sticking around in Seattle for the next 7 years. He signed a 7 year deal worth $175M making him the highest paid pitcher in baseball. This makes Arod's contract look like peanuts in comparison.

A-Rod's contract was 10 years and $250 million. So the same per year and he had 3 more years. If Kershaw is going to get $200 million it's only going to come from the Dodgers who now have money to burn. No one else would offer him that.
