so, looking for a new board. but it needs to be shippable to australia, so no burton, no capita, no arbor and no rome boards...
so of the sierra/rome package $550 after post the Technine tmoney 2012 $310 the F2 revolution air $300 or the Sapient element $510 not that price is a massive issue, and ive alleady got a pair of rome s90 bindings with 2 seasons of wear. (verry little) just means i have bindings for both boards. all of these boards seem to be all mountain boards by there description and all have sizes to fit 6' 180lbs. love freeriding but just getting into the park a little bit after exploring the mountain. |

I know this isn't really in your options but...
I've only ever had 2 boards, Sierra crew and Flow verve. Hated the crew and loved the verve. It says its a park board but riding this for free ride was amazing! so much fun. |

Consider some other brands which still ship to Aus.
Flow, Nitro, Signal, Palmer. I ride the Sierra Crew which is great all mountain, unfortunately only small sizers are left. I'm similar weight & height and ride a 158/159 for all mountain, that 152 linked above is too small. You could probably drop to a 156 if you like to ride small.. Offtopic: Do you ride Perisher, I can't wait for the season to kick off! |

Also don't forget, if you have someone in the US you can ship to, you can then get them to post it with no issues. Usually spending that sort amount you will get free shipping within the lower 48, so it will cost about the same as going direct from here straight to aus for example. That frees up all brands too.

Been to Queenstown last 3 seasons, usually have a warm up at Perisher before heading over. This season I don't think I'll make it to NZ as I bought the Perisher season pass and will invest a little more time here in Australia.

yeah... include shipping into the equation
last time i checked...which was a while ago it was about 75 bucks to ship a single board to Australia. might find you will pay about the same buying locally now also have you considered buying from other US sites with less restrictions |

Mmm, ebay is great. Rome agent 2012 is $750 in stores at my local. $350 shipped on ebay. Big difference.
Don't know if i want to pay $400 to support local for this one... I usually try but $400 is steep.. |

But something to be aware of is the warranty. Like anything, warranty is a bitch from overseas. Shipping there and back would cost $180ish before they even look at it... Thats the only thing to be careful of. |

Just buy another brand new one if it breaks
still cheaper than buying locally.

It's good to support locals when possible but boy do we get shafted with certain things in Aus (i.e. snowboarding gear). It's crazy that you could literally buy 2 from the US for the same price as 1 here. Not all the stores fault though, the wholesale prices are far greater to begin with.

talking to one of the owners at the local store, he was saying that the wholesaler prices were so much better this year then ever.
Also, supposedly burton is releasing cheaper price range items, anything from boards to jackets. Should be good. $180ish for a jacket, no idea on stats. But sounds better then $400 for a jacket currently. |

Just to chime in on the cost of snowboard gear here in Australia, agree we have to pay too much. I really like my local store here in Sydney and support them where I can with the purchase of boots and other items.
However I couldn't justify the extra for boards, bindings, and outerwear which is why I bought all that gear from TruSnow I'm not convinced it's directly related to wholesale costs, unless all the manufacturers are keeping prices in line. I'm all for buying locally if prices drop, we know it should considering the Australian dollar is now worth more than the USD. |

when stuff goes on sale locally you can buy at almost the same pricesyou cant compare sale prices in the states with retail in Australia simply does not work so i saw a 2011 capita mid life recently the lowest ive seen it in retail shops in America (assuming you can still find the 2011 on sale anywhere) ....250 ish + 75 shipping (this is pretty damn cheap for shipping board from states, 125-150 is more like what you would expect to pay for something that is brand restricted) = 325~ really good price for Australia 300....they had 10 % off promo recently as well so 270 + 50 bucks shipping (probably could work out pick up if you in melb) - 320 all up Cheaper in Australia.....ZOMG ![]() was doing a similar comparison with 2012 park pickle (or skate banana) recently too Considering both models are impossible to find on sale in the states...you would have to use amercia retail to compare. worked out cheaper in Australia with TRS and sale at time |
