Skateboarding

I remember watching that video, Of Troglodytes and Men, its a good one. You should have posted that one to the longboarding thread instead.

OK, so I've got a skateboard and a helmet, plus there is a skate park right by my house.  What else do I need?  Oh yeah, I also have some brand new skate shoes coming soon.  Will I look like a tool if I wear elbow/knee pads?  Part of me doesn't care because I'd rather protect my body than look cool.

I don't think people will think your a tool. In my opinion the real tools are the people who don't wear a helmet or anything. They might think they look cool but they won't look too cool when they get brain damage.

Because skating by yourself isn't nearly as much fun.    I love skating by myself.  The best thing about someone to skate with though is that it's nice to have someone else to do the driving when you need to make a run to the ER  Skating alone is like meditation for me, but it did suck driving a half hour to the ER when I was bleeding and woozy.  Which was my fault for not having my helmet on that day.

I got pads from a rollerblading company. They work as well as my old skate pads, but were way cheaper. I also don't care what people think if I wear pads. I'm tired of injuries, especially preventable ones.

I think skateboard pads are so huge because they have vert skating in mind. Like pools and mega pipes.

I need to get a pair of knee pads for longboarding. trying standup slides and bailing is no fun.

When I longboard I usually wear knee pads, unless I'm just cruising around. If I'm trying to do slides on rough roads I usually break out the elbow pads too. Just one look at my knee pads show how much they have saved my knees. Huuuuge gashes in them. But the pads I have are pro-tec street pads and they are comfortable and minimalistic enough to probably ride a mountain bike with too, Robnezz. And they are really cheap. I got elbow and knees for around $40.

I love going on road trips to find skateparks across the country, those are the best road trips.

^Yeah man Laura (boards name) rides pretty darn well and looks just as good. I get some dirty looks though when I bring her to public places dressed like that.

David Gonzalez is sick.

David's video was just too insane. He's soo good. gnarliest ender i've seen. I don't even think a snowboarder would've 50-50 that 34 stair kink rail.

Yeah David and Aaron Homoki are my favorite skateboarders to watch right now.

His son Riley Hawk rips also, but he skates street mostly

I've wanted to learn that trick so badly

I just put some spitfire cheap shots on my trick board cause I had $6 cash on me. Don't like them at all. They feel funny. I think I'll stick to reds.

got 5 0 fakie two days ago. can only get them in the mini though, its freaky on a bigger ramp.

Thats sweet I need to learn them. Every time I try it, my front foot touches the ramp and sticks.
