I think the next step is Flying to space on a jet pack then free falling back to earth. That'll be intense!

Holy snap did that really happen? or was it another mission to the moon?
Just watched the video and if those speeds were accurate, damn he's moving fast! but he didn't beat the free fall record made back in 1960? That's a little hard to believe. Did someone mention olive garden? don't you find their food quite salty??

If you haven't/ What's easier to walk accross: a pond 4 feet deep or a pond 2 inches deep? The high atmosphere is like the 2 inch deep pond. As in there are very few (relative to the ground level) molocules of air for your body to push through. That's how he got going so fast. Now for not having bodily injury? Relative to his motion of falling down, his body is going the same speed. When you take a step forward on a bus, you are only going the speed of the step (relative to the bus), not the speed of the step plus the speed of the bus. Same thing applies to his fall.
The other possible injury point would be the shock wave of the speed barrier. You know the pics of the jets breaking it that have the sweet halo around them? Ya, that. That could kill a guy really quick. But, as we said before, there was vitually no air around him to cause friction, or a sonic collaps behind him.
If you have/ sham man. shame.

Does anyone know where you can see the whole video?
And I just want to know how he didnt sustain any injuries from going that fast. |

^ I had a friend post on facebook basically that same question. After jumping from the edge of space, breaking the sound barrier with your own body, and returning to earth safely... what will he do next with his life?
I was going to say a trip to Olive Garden may be in store, but then I realized... what do you do to keep yourself entertained after something like that??

Agreed. Thought it was pretty damned cool to watch him jump. Would have been awesome if the GoPro's could have live-broadcast the POV feeds. But seeing them afterward is pretty cool too!

Pretty boring to watch, but pretty sweet to think about going 729mph. At 5 minutes I wonder if it'd start to feel like a dream about falling. Totally surreal.

Oh man. That's crazy! So much credit goes out to the jumper and red bull. I wouldn't even attempt sky diving never mind even think of this. That was amazing.
I didn't get to see the landing yet though, will have to look for it when I get home from work. |

He was basically wearing a next generation space suit. The air temp was as low as -80*F and the pressure was something like .07 ATMs (from memory only). He jumped from over 2 times higher than the death line, where if you didn't have a pressurized suit, your blood would straight freekin' boil inside of your body the pressure is so low!!!

Ya his suit looked looked like an astronauts. Not just for the forces that he dealt with falling, his blood would have turned into a gas in the Stratophere if we wasn't wearing a pressurized suit to handle the pressure and lack of oxygen.

His top speed was 833 mph. That's crazy. That's over Mach 1. I'm amazed that a human body could even survive that kind of free fall outside of a vehicle.

red bull is always pushing the limits. Just one hell of a company, brand, and product. I am interested to know the training the person did in order to do this just. I feel like that had some crazy G suit that kept him from passing out or their body was so well tuned for it.
regardless absolutely awesome |

Space gloves are hella bulky, then you add the pressurized "puff" in the suit that comes with it. I could see how it would be a small task. My roommate and I had a laugh thinking that he was second guessing the whole "jump from space" thing after that. "Number 29, remove your seatbelt. Felix? Please remove your seatbelt..." FWIW, I don't think I'd want to be conscious during a 700 mph tumble.
