I'm buying my first jacket cause I'm tired of living off of the jacket my friend wore out and I'm looking at the Burton twc throttle or the quiksilver quarter. Short and sweet what would you pick and y.

So what conditions will you be using this jacket in? What sort of riding? doing much backcountry? or all inbounds?

I wear a pretty good lightweight jacket. I would recommend it if you don't mind wear layers underneath for cold days, or just wearing it alone for warmer sessions... very flexible and light, too! It's the Volcom Sevendials jacket.
If you want more info, I recently got around to writing a review of here. Mine is the aster colour. By coincidence, right now, TruSnow is having a sale on a slightly higher end version of the Sevendials, called the Shoreditch. It is very slightly thicker and heavier from a little more insulation, and it upgrades to fully taped seams. Everything else is the same. |

I don't know anything about picking the jackets. The sevendials was sold out and I wouldent mind the other jacket if it wasn't highlighter yellow. I really don't care about the color as long as it isn't white or bright bright colors

Reading up on both those jackets, they're quite similar in specs as well as looks. Breathability and waterproofing is almost identical. I guess given that, it would really come down to styling preferences. Velcro zipper seal vs. push button, exterior front chest pocket vs. hidden front chest pocket, pocket flaps vs. no pocket flaps. Are they the same colour too?
In terms of branding, from what I can tell, Burton's dryride tech seems more reputable. |

get something with a the highest water proof rating you can afford and good breath ability just go with a shell or lined shell no insulation so you can layer up when it's cold and still wear it when it's warm.
