So I got an epic pass and I've used epic mix for a couple of seasons. I find it fun but not really adequate for measuring and keeping track of what I have done and where I have been, specially considering that it only tracks you by which lift you get on and only on their resorts.
Just wondering what apps you guys use to track your vertical feet, max speed, drops, etc... |

I like to use AlpineReplay. It measures speed, vertical, calories, distance, airtime, jumps etc. There is also a leader board so you can compare yourself to others.

Out of curiosity, how much data does the app use to track you?

I use Epic Mix as well but I also like Sports Tracker to track my actual runs. It runs the battery down fast though.

Eh, I would prefer to be able to use my phone at the end of the day, but it does make sense since it's constantly tracking you.

Yeah battery does die very quickly.
Thats why I only use it for a couple runs and then turn it off. |

I got a fee app called "speed box" as a speedometer. I really want to know how fast I'm going when I'm really bombing a run. I haven't got to ride since I downloaded it but I've tested in the car and it's pretty accurate.
Only problem is, it doesn't record top speed, only displays in real time (you have to pay $1 for the full version for that). So I'll have to hit top gear, pop out my phone and look at the screen to find out how fast I'm going. Probably going to end badly. |

I use the Epicmix app...but recently I tried out the Burton app. I like it bc it counts your days and everything. For epic mix....when I went to resorts that weren't part of it..it wouldn't log them....causing me to lose count of my days.
Epicmix and Burton..try it guys! |

Angry midget:
Epic mix does not use any data to track you. the actual tracking is between the RFID chip on your ticket and their RFsensors at the lift line. The phone app is just so you can see in real time your stats. So the app is really economical data wise. |

Downloaded, can't wait to get on the hill to see how it works!
Do you know if you have to have a data connection to keep it running? I think i'll be able to have a GPS signal, but I know there are a few dead zones on my mountain.

I used Epic Mix last season and its a pretty cool app. It makes the mountain a little more interactive but definitely lacking specifics. I'm interested to try this Burton one though.

+1 for Alpine Relay, nice app for tracking your run stats. I don't think you need a constant data connection for this work. It knows which resort your at based on the GPS fix. I haven't seen any dropouts in my runs and I am sure cell coverage wasn't available everywhere.

I use liftopia and itrail map. As far as days counted - I leave my lift tickets on till end of season (if it gets too bulky, I save em in my night table)

I have tried a few different ones and found Phresheez to be my favorite as it seems to have the best interface, battery life, and accuracy. Even used it to find a friends lost phone off piste, pulled up the website and found the GPS coordinates went to the spot and sure enough found the phone.

I use Ski Report. Pretty up-to-date with snowfall and conditions, historic snowfall data, and real-time user updates with photos. Also has maps for every resort.

I found Ski Report mostly good. Last season it seemed the live reports were screened or something which lead to long delays before they were posted. I made reports that weren't posted for days afterwards. I would like to see near real time reports.
